Hey AZ friends,

my good friend and biz-partner (Stefan) has moved his as.s to Singapore last week.
Yeap, he left fabulous Vienna (Austria) and will live in Singapore for app. 2 years.
His english is quite bad and he is not even a member here - at least until now.
I told him there are some awesome guys here on AZ from Singapore,
and there is a Cue Collector Show too, since last year

He will build up his computer and internet collection in one or two weeks,
and I told him I will try to find some places to play POOL for him.

So it would be great if you could help him to get to some places and meet some people, you know.

Thanks in advance,
Eric"h"

I've heard of a lot of great people who are players and collectors out in Singapore. Just make sure to keep him out of that new casino...!

That was a good decision for him to bring his ass. I'd do the same.

Where are you, Stefan? We are gonna learn you how to American talk!

I went to Singpore for 11 days back in October of 2006. Right up the street from the Raffles Hotel (very famous place where they say Ernest Hemingway used to drink Singapore Slings) is one of what I think are a 'chain' of very nice, clean, upscale pool halls called "Fusion"? I actually stayed at Raffles-The Plaza when I was there (has since become 'The Fairmont') and went to hit balls at this place almost every day. Very clean, brand new Super Aramith Pro Balls. I did not witness many good players except for one young dude. And the place was very busy--> almost all tables are occupied in the evening. And the employees were all young, fairly attractive Singaporean girls who wore very short skirts. I had a great time drinking Tiger Beer and practicing for a few hours and nobody bothered me. Definitely recommend this place. As far as tournaments and action go....I don't know. I was just looking to relax after my day at the office and was elated that I could walk to this place from my hotel in about 3 minutes. I didn't even have my cues with me....but the house cues were better than any pool room here in USA that's for sure......next time if I have to go I am at least packing one of my McDermott's in with my clothes.

That pool hall has closed. They opened another in a building nearby. They now have got 3 pool halls in that building. Some 60 odd tables all together.

There are now even more girls in mini skirts there. It is kind of distracting.

The owner was a national player. A little rusty but still very good. Or you can try the manager there who is a pretty good player herself. Please don't go easy on her just because she is a lady. She will chew you up and spit you out!

Anything else just PM. Tournaments are getting rare around here. But being centrally located. Singapore is within reach to places like Malaysia and Indonesia where there are regular tournaments where the field are typically world class players.

Singapore probably has the most concentration of pool hall in this little island of ours.

Welcome to my rock.
