Pool in the philipines

apparently they use the term billiards for pocket billiards

Why do you think they pocket balls so well? By playing with those pucks/discs they learn that making balls is all about equator-to-equator collisions. When they transition to spheres they learn to use what's above and below the equator to move the cueball around. Genius actually.

We used to a play a pocket game similar in the 60's at the Boys Club.

Does anyone remember the Puff Ball game, where you had to knock small balls into a hole. I think there were only four holes. The reason I ask is that my Uncle invented that game. He had several other well known kids toys he created as well, most notably Barrel of Monkeys. He sells his games off to major toy companies and collects royalties for life. Still going strong, playing the market, at 93!

Was BoM the game where you hooked the arms together to make like a monkey chain? Had that game also.

That's it! Still sells in all the major toy stores. His first big score was the Sip 'n See straw. You have to be over 60 to remember that one. They were straws that looked like animals and the liquid went all around their body before entering your mouth. Sold millions in the 50's and 60's.

I used to play Barrel of Monkeys all the time..fun
