Pool Instruction Idea

I have had this idea for a while so I thought I would share it.
Someone ( maybe Max) needs to do a step by step series from the start of a players journey to the finished product of a good player.
Start it with something like Byrnes explaining the physics and must know information about the game.
Part two would be the stroke and stance and something like the "SEE" system for alignment.
Give them a timeline on each and hours needed to practice.
I don't think it should be to the extreme of "the Monk"
Let them send their videos in after each segment.
Just send me a free ( full version ) when you get done for the idea

It would require a willing student who has no real ability but a desire to learn and an early intervention by the instructor before bad habits kick in. It would be an interesting study, but it would take years in the making. Learning and using eye patterns alone can take months of practice before they are second nature and that is but a tiny part of a shot.

I get amused when people talk about how complicated a golf swing is compared to playing a shot in pool. There is nothing simple about a shot, there are many layers, many techniques, years of practice and immense amounts of mental conditioning that go into what makes a champion's game what it is.

I think a lot of instructors would love to make a complete start-to-finish set of instructions to go from D- to A+. But the investment in time and money would be enormous. If someone else volunteered to hold the camera, provide the equipment, do the editing, etc... I'm sure you could find an instructor willing to just talk and demonstrate shots.

For the instructor to do it alone though is nuts... it's a lot of work just to crank out an hour and a half DVD on a specific topic. Or to get a book published.

Just curious, how many DVDs do you guys figure would be needed for such a project? Maybe 30? Maybe more? And of course that's just to impart the knowledge with examples showing the various shots and strokes and whatever. That doesn't give you any of the physical or mental skills.

I was thinking about the DVDs being done quarterly. I believe Byrnes volume 1 and 2 being mandatory. His material is easy to comprehend and pretty thorough . Maybe this could be done if several instructors done a segment on what their best at. I have often wondered how much easier my journey could have been
