Yes, and this attire is a constant reminder that pro pool players, in terms of visibility, prestige, and marketability are far more like bowlers than tennis players or golfers. Comfort is a non-issue, The world's straightest shooters, snooker pros, play in tuxedos, and it does not slow them down one iota.

Some of the elite pro pool players used to dress for success. Now, it seems, they are often not permitted to do so.

in the midsession in the recent northern ireland open they showed a reel of snooker pros answering questions, one of them was about the dress code. seems most of them wanted to do away with the waistcoat and bowtie. some mentioned the pool style with a polo shirt.

i have no opinion in the matter. i wouldn't be comfortable in the formal attire personally. i can count the number of times i've worn a tie

I think for league players or exhibition events like mcup the loud shirts are cool, the common theme being team events.

For top level professional events I’m all for proper dress. Maybe not full on tux In every event but still proper dress is best, like snooker.

Sigel told me he never lost a tuxedo tournament, he was joking of course, but he did say he loved them and being in a tux made him feel good and play better. Which I can’t disagree with him.

For gamblers and action pool, anything goes. Myself I like to play barefoot.

That‘s my take on the Pool player dress code. league players would look silly in tuxedos as would the gamblers. The pros in shorts and barefoot would be bad as well.

Fatboy,,,,,,,,,, not a fashionista 😅😅

I like the old-school button-up square bottom bowling shirts. They look WAY better than these spandex sausage tubes. I think these look cool and are really comfortable: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-e&q=cool+bowling+shirts#pvs=0
I really liked our high collar 1/4 zip jerseys. They breathe and fit really well: loose fit on all but 2 of our bowling balls -- er, bowlers...
Would definitely want slimmer fit at the table if i'm playing tournaments, but i'm also not a big dude.

Now my cycling buddies that wear lycra road jerseys when they're as big around as 2 of me...that's a different story entirely...

Bowlers are 100% goofy (including myself to a lesser degree here) and being over the top is a character thing (see: Kyle Troup).

Ernie McCracken coming at you.

I always wear Hustlin shirts, hoodies etc to backgammon tourneys and when we go to the parks to play BG. Hiding in plain sight 😉. The BG players like that stuff too. Tony has great stuff🫡🫡

Don't need to wear these goofy spandex shirts to dress well. Pair of slacks and a collared shirt should do. No offense but i don't give a rodent's behind what snooker players wear. They don't wear a jacket while playing, just a nice shirt. BTW, didn't the snooker tour just sign a new clothing deal with Castore? I think the 'tux look' may be dead based on what i heard. They look like golf shirts to me:

So do I, 🤡🤡 and I wear it well.

Then again I also have other cloths and can dress properly.

How do you dress? I’m always looking to improve and it’s clear you are a man of class and taste. Can you please help me out? I need guidance. Hopefully I can afford such attire, I’ll do my best

Wear a golf shirt with one logo. Tuck it in. Comb your hair. No caps. Long pants. No tats. Stop looking like thugs. Clean up you act. Promote the sport. Get it out of the gutter.

Outsiders of the game see billiards as sort of a rowdy sport, found mostly in bars, players drinking and rabble rousing. There is probably room for improvement, maybe dress attire would help.

so you're asking the (already struggling) players to take a cut in sponsorship and also remove their tattoos before playing?
Melling would be screwed. I don't care about tats as so many have them now its no big deal. I would draw the line at body piercings, nose rings, shit like that.

I’m covered in tats. My dad had all the WW2 ink, I always loved tats. I had tats before tats were a thing. Zero regrets.

The little the ink has cost me is far outweighed by the gain having the ink has rewarded me

My tats aren’t “normal”

Go big or stay home. That’s how I always roll…..

Now now there's one classy dude searching for action. Really like the shirt. Who made it?
Robert Graham they are $300-$600 depending on the material

The shoes are the big $, those things are like custom cues. Takes forever to have them made and the sky is the limit on price. Like cues depends on who makes them and what they are made of.

Gotta dress sharp 💪

With all due respect to the list, the other guys on that list play 1100X better than I ever did. 😕 I tried my hardest for years and years to play like they do and it just wasn’t there. Can’t train in what God left out. Funny how that works.
