Just trying to see the format everybody's BCA league or similar league?

Here is how our league works but trying to get other ideas to the league coordinator...you get a point per ball and 3 points for the 8 ball.

Standings are based on points and another league that I play in they are based on rounds...I think this is more fair for the weaker teams because it takes the handicap more into effect because it makes the stronger have to try a lot harder win rounds when you are spotting a team 15 balls per round...which we did last night. They are 5 man teams and you play each other one time.

When we have a new person it cancels out the other teams lowest handicap person. So on and so forth.

Let me know how other leagues are ran?

Thanks.

subs play as 10's here until they play one week, then their average.

we rank teams by rounds won.

we play 20 racks, each player plays 4 of the other team's 5 players.

my league is ACS but works almost exactly the same as yours except standing is based on rounds and new players start as a 7 and subs and two man rule players play as handicap +1.

I think that our should go with rounds because it helps the weaker teams with the spot and all but since we are the strongest team...I am not going to complain.

Also, what is the best way to get players to get a team or join a team? I thought with us offering the first place team an all expense trip to Vegas...we would have a bunch of teams.

We have four teams of five players but kind of got the word out a little late about sending the first place team. We started telling people about two weeks prior so I think that once we send the first place team this session then teams will start talking and the word of mouth will spread fast and we will have a few teams join.

Any ideas on how to get players?

There is the APA in town and they have a bunch of players but it has been going for a little while now.

In our learue, nobody knows.. We just argue a lot about rules made by some drunk at a bus stop.

We won the city chanpionships and won a ring which costs each of us $175.
We are shrewd businessmen.

just demonstrate the advantages of BCA/ACS over APA for better players and they should flock. i know for me, and i assume other higher end players, get really frustrated with not being able to play due to the points posting limit APA has.

i play in an APA legue and all i get to play is one match per night. i play anyone on the other team and using the grid on the scoresheet, it tells me how many games i have to win vesrus them in order to win my match. so i only get one match per night. it sucks!

I used to play in the local APA league also and it sucked. I hated watching 2's and 3's beat and bang the ball all night. Also it is so hard to try and coach a 2 to kick at a ball or whatever. Thanks for the replies...keep them coming.

Hey man, it was good seeing you this weekend!

Our VNEA league is points based, but we are changing the handicaps this session to try and make things more fair (our team has won several times in a row). We are trying something a little closer to the way bowling is handicapped.

The BCA league I play in is on big tables with no handicap. The first session a few of us got together and seperated all the players out and tried to make teams even. We were a little off on the first and last place teams, but the four teams in the middle all had a chance to advance or fall back on the last night so it was exciting.

This session we simply took players averages and seperated the teams out, then did some tweaking where needed.

It switches teams up every session and gives weaker players a chance to be on teams with some people they normally wouldnt get to play with. So far it has been alot of fun.

I had a bad session and will have to listen to people hound me about not being an A player this session, so I will be motivated to bear down a little more and get my average back up LOL.

Yeah, it was good to see you also. If you pursue your class then let me know, I will definitely be interested.

I think once we send a team to Vegas for just winning the league then we will have some teams. The APA you have to get the top 4 spots in the league and then go to playoffs and then maybe onto somewhere before getting a trip so this is a much better deal. It is fun times also.
