Pool league question....

I have a couple questions I hope someone can help me with.

The situation is this...

I belong to an APA league, the LO has a running problem with owner of the hall we play out of and has recently banned the location...

Its rediculously frustrating, as we (my team) actually PAID to have 8 tables in this hall re-covered... But because of the relationship with the owner of the hall the LO banned it as a location...

How does someone go about starting a BCA 9 ball league. To my knowledge, there are no BCA 9 ball league in my area and the name brand recognition would go a long way in recruiting teams. Obviously we can not play APA out of that location anymore.

I dont have the energy, time or interest in recruiting heavily. I know alot of people but I can't invest a ton of time into this... options?

My only goal here is to play pool against top teams and players and to play out of the location we paid to have new cloth installed... We want to play 9 ball.

If you can field enough teams that have zero interest in a trip to Vegas, why wouldn't/couldn't you start your own in-house league and play by whatever rules you wish? You collect yearly dues (which get the card holders free table time during the week), charge for weekly play, turn some of that money over to the hall owner, and use the balance for paying out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places at seasons end. You might also have a small cash payout for the top shooter.

You just need 6 teams (though 8 would be better)

Maniac (did it this way for a few years)

It's unfortunate when some people are willing to shoot themselves and others in the foot to spite their toe(in this case, the pool hall).

If you're serious about starting up a BCA league in your hall, just click on the link and follow these instructions.

Good luck and enjoy!

If they want to get pissy over a dispute, you don't need that kind of operator in your business, nor do you need to donate your money to them.

After being totally frustrated with the APA at a younger age, I started a BCA league on my own. As Mark said, it is quite easy. I ran my league before Mark acquired the BCA pool league, but I'm sure it is still an easy process. Good luck and support those who support pool.
