pool makes news in a positive way

The attached link is to a story from KNXV 15 in Phoenix covering the Regional Tour Championships being held this weekend at Bullshooters. Very positive and I can't remember the last time pool made the news here.

I use to throw boomerangs competitively (believe it or not, it's a real sport). Some tournaments we'd contact the local tv and they would send someone out and do a story. Local papers would pick the story up sometimes. Point is that boomerang throwing has maybe 200 competitors nationwide and it gets press. How many pool tournaments have someone contacting local media? What about the AP?
