Pool mentioned at Cracked.com

For those of you who remember Cracked magazine, it has morphed into an online site.

In their famous "list" articles, they mention pool as one of those most needlessly detailed wikipedia entries. Although I like their articles, I don't agree with this.

But, still, an interesting read, and the site itself is humorous.

Well, it wasn't pool, it was "Glossary of cue sports terms".

It's a glossary. It's not meant to be read. Cracked is....cracked. :wink:


But now I know where I can look thing up when I am reading AZB posts. I used to live and breathe pool and still don't understand what some people are saying, mostly gambling terms though.

Does Cracked have a list of needless articles? This one should be at the top of the list.

Without looking at the page history to see when it was added, the Wikipedia glossary includes stakehorse. Apparently, the author of the cracked article has never looked up a word whose definition included one or more words he did not know.

I would have to agree with the article based on the fact that the wiki includes terms from all cue sports, when there should probably be one for each major discipline because pool players, 3 cushion players, and snooker players all come from distinctly different subcultures.
