just got my Chalk DvD off of Drawman623 in the mail and i loved it rep points to you :) Thanx Ray

here it is at IMDB.the website is very accurate at ratings since they are public based and an 8.8 is very good.i think the highest rated movie at the entire website is Godfather at 9.3 or so.the rating may be biased though as there are only 20 votes and most big movies have 20,000+.

Chalk

I got it and watched it last night/this morning about 6 am... Had a long night of poker that turned out well and was just wired when I got home.

Thanks to the guy who sent it to me for free.. Much appreciated.

In my opinion... This movie sucked..... No surprise there..

There were two parts in the whole movie I liked and neither was playing pool..

One part was the main characters fathers friend picked the son up after he passed out from drinking and told a story about why his father quit playing pool..

The second part was shortly after that as the fathers friend gave the son a roll and said get on the bus.. He gets to the pool room and blows $100 to a guy who takes him outside to his vw bus/home to explain the horrors of being a pool player.

In this conversation he tells the main character that he once had more than he does now and it could happen to anyone..

"You start out with a big dream and end up scuffling all over the country"

"I started out in an expensive motor home and two years later I sold that son of a b**ch"

"You don't make it to the top ten then you can't make ends meet and what you experienced tonight is just a small part of what's coming on if you keep doin what you doin"

Then he tells the guy he feels sorry for beating him as he used to be like him. Says few years down the road you win a tournament and you can't get a game. Everyone will want weight and probably think you play better than you do.

He says volley ball players and dart players make more money than a pool player. It's not worth it..

Anyway, Those two conversations are the best parts of the movie..

I don't know when this movie was made but it looks like the 80's to me in the movie.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS MOVIE

I didn't spoil it for anyone.. I really didn't say what the movie was about or how it ended..

I just said the two parts I liked which were conversations..

If anyone has a copy of the Cincinnati Kid on dvd I'll trade them and pass along the movie for someone else to watch.

if you hate it so bad,why don't you just get rid of it here.

It's not that I hate the movie.. It just wasn't so great.. and I will pass it along.. I would love to trade with another member for a copy of the movie I stated above. I'll try and hold out for that and if nobody has a copy then I'll just pass this one along.
