what ever happend to the movie Turn the river with famke jansenn. It was at sundance last year but i cant find anything about where to buy it. Also what ever happend to Jennifer barretas and Kid delicous movie. Seems like weve been hearing about these for years but have seen no finished product.

Jen Barretta's seemed to run out of funding. They were selling pre-order DVDs, at first for 20$, but last I heard the price was down to 2$ a DVD.

Lions Gate still owns the rights to the Kid Delicious movie, but there hasn't been any movement on it. They bought the rights back in 2005 and L. Jon Wertheim is supposed to be writing the script. He finished the book, called "Running the Table", but I'd be surprised if LGF ever gets around to turning this into a movie. Studios option books all the time, sit on them and never do anything with 'em.

You can get the book at Amazon if you want it.

I actually auditioned for that movie a couple years ago and met Famke Jansen. Man, is she beautiful. If I were a superhero, I'd be Wolverine!

Nah, I don't think you can find a Lois Lane hotter than Famke.

And the answer to the thread question is? Where the hell can I buy rent Turn the River? Thank you. Johnnyt

I tried to give you the answer...

The movie is still being screened for distributors...

The Official Website has a screenings list which means the movie isn't in general distribution yet...

Not in theaters, not on DVD...

Still waiting for someone willing to distribute...

I love a good pool movie as much as the rest of you players--but, this movie will do nothing for our sport. It looks like it will rank right up there with Shooting Gallery. As a room owner I don't see this movie bringing in the masses to play pool. It's too dark, too desperate and looks damn depressing.

I don't know. I watched the trailer and kind of liked what I saw. I know the trailers don't mean much as they are usually the best part of the movie. I have said all along that someone needs to make a pool movie staring a female. The male hustler/road player has been done to death. Johnnyt

I'm always going to watch a pool movie. Whether I like it or not.
I saw the trailer also, the actress might as well play a crack ho-- she's dirty..... same difference. I still don't think the movie will be good for our sport, I guess bad attention is better than none. huh?
I would rather see a movie that uplifts our sport perhaps about a lady player that makes good as a professional poolplayer, not the lowest common denominator. I guess too boring huh?
Wanna bet there is a rape scene in that movie???

I just want middle class america to love our sport, not go tich tich that's what I've always thought. drugs, gambling and bums...
Sorry folks I'll hop off my soabox. 30 years in the biz allows me some leeway.

I know what kind of pool movie like to see made, and wish those kind of movies still sold myself. But lets face it the Brady Bunch is long gone. People want R rated movies now, and let's face it, a lot of the poolrooms and characters in them are at least R rated. Johnnyt

rap music talks about murder, rape, ho's, drugs, poverty. quess thats the last we'll hear of that. people like dirty & depressing could be the best pool movie ever.

ok guys I get where you are coming from. Jason, you picked a very good analogy tho not entirely true--some people are trying to change the face of rap music because it denigrates women and the black community. They realize it isn't good for their community. But, you are right it will continue.
Is this movie good for pool I don't think so. Entertaining we shall see. Shooting Gallery sucked. It wasn't the least bit entertaining and it certainly didn't do our sport any good.
But, I can see I am beating a dead horse, but my heart is in the right place.
I will agree to disagree gentlemen.
