Just in case you didn't know. Starting at 2:30 pm eastern time, ESPN will be showing the International Challenge of Champions which usually is pretty good, followed up by some Trick Shot Magic, woo- hoo. If you can tear yourself away from football. Ron:grin:

Thnak you. This should make for an enjoyable Sunday afternoon. I gotta move a TV into the pool room !

Got to love Sunday afternoon Pool

I've got my Tv in the Pool room down stairs but I could use a bigger screen tv .

Thanks for telling us , I know my DVR never forgets but I do most of the time .

Snowed in and with a choice of watching the finals at Turning Stone and ESPN pool! I'm a happy camper.

am i crazy or is the table that neiljs and darren playing on one of those dinning room conversion tables??? seems kind of like a silly gimmick for a pro tournament.

Ya, no kidding. I don't think I've ever seen wider rails on a table. Pretty cool idea though, would be a great way to get a pool table into your office, or into your home if you're one of those guys whose wife keeps his balls in a little guilded box under the bed.

Thanks for the heads up about the matches.....I agree, funky looking table.

One of the unfortunate oddities of televised tournament Pool is that the players are often at the mercy of the sponsors. Brunswick have done this extensively, especially on the WPBA tour. Gold Crowns are used for the non-televised round but then replaced with a furniture model they want to promote to the television audience.

Sadly this makes a great deal of sense for Brunswick's marketing, as the average home buyer is much more likely to buy a furniture style table than a Gold Crown, especially if they believe it is of tournament quality by seeing Pros playing on it on TV. As long as there is a dearth of other sponsors in the sport we can't really complain about this, just like it's pointless to complain about races being cut from 11 or 9 to 7 or 5 just to fit easier into a 45-minute (After adverts) programming slot.
