Pool on TV Alert: 2014 Men's Challenge of Champions: Shane, Dennis, Thorsten, Darren

Does anyone else feel like Darren has Shane's number or that Darren is in Shane's head? The reason I ask is because Darren won all of the sets that they played against each other in the Mosconi Cup and today (not really today, but it's being shown on TV today) Shane missed a very makeable 8 ball in the International Challenge of Champions that would have won him the match.

I was kinda thinking the same thing

Excellent commentary by Ewa and Lon, plus some good camera work. I also liked the interviews they did with each player. I'm not fond of the format but at least they are showing some top notch pool on TV. Too bad we don't have more shows like this. :o

I agree, Jay. Lon has been criticized in the past, but I think he carries out his role quite well.

I enjoyed seeing the simulations of shot predictions.... It caught my wife's attention quite well.
Helping her to enjoy the skill better knowing where the position was targeted.
Kind of cool.

* wish I had started this crap earlier *

2 things....
I seen 3 thud balls they called miscues in one set...was those cyclopse?
how do they pick the four contestants to play?
they said if you win the tournament you're not guaranteed to come back next year..
of course darren Won last yr but when they were showing his statistics they had him rated as the 14th on the APB

- They were using Aramith Tournament balls, not Cyclop balls.

- The 4 players are chosen by the event promoter, Billiards International, which is now owned by Gregg Hovey. The players invited generally are winners of significant events during the past year.

Good pool show!

I really enjoyed watching the matches and I thought it would come down to Darren or Shane, shows what I know. Saw some good play and some choke shots. That format is tough and I was nervous watching it. I'm sure their was plenty of pressure for all of them. Shane had Darren and blew a easy shot on the 8 and lost. Darren had it and blew his 7 ball shape and lost. That is pool! Wish they would of been playing one race to 15.
