I see the WPBA 2005 Tournament of Champions is on ESPN this afternoon.
I set up the trusty old VCR to tape.
Has this been on before or is it new? :)

Probably the same old same old with Mitch making dumb remarks, pocket cam, lousy camera angles, and the sweaters clapping on every shot as if it was extraordinary.

If it is a repeat you can always erase it. I used to keep all the pool matches that I taped. Started to thin them out. Haven't found too many worth keeping.

Yeah i was not sure if i had seen it already. I like to tape em and watch em later. :)

Captian -

Its only been on once - its a different final than you would usually see. I hate to say it but the playing is horrible except for one player. Well Karen plays pretty strong but not her best. In the first semi she makes a really hard run out that was impressive.:)

This has definitely been on at least once before. However, if you didn't see it, it is still new, for you. :)

I still use VCR's too. I just don't see the benefit of Tivo.

TIVO truly will change the way you watch TV and give you more time away from the TV. I can't stress enough, how great that thing is. I used to say the same things and had to house sit with a TIVO for a day. I bought one the next day! Just get somebody to show you it up close and you will know why my VCRs are in the closet. I do suggest you buy one that will burn your shows onto DVD though. SO you can save forever what you want.

Well with Tivo's and DVR's for one thing it is hard to mess-up. You can set it to record for example

"all billiards show on a channel
"first run billiard shows only on a channel"
"all billiard shows in this time slot only"

and a few other choices as to what to record so you set it once and forget it. The clock also gets set automatically from the internet so that it is never off.

I think Tivo cuts out commercials too- My DVR does not but u can breeze through them with total accuracy and speed. MY DVR also serves as my cable box so there is no extra hardware. It is the best thing to come into my house in a long time. Mine does not burn dvd's without a separate machine but i find that 99% of what i record i never watch again after the first viewing.

Well, as it turns out.........I already had that match on tape. Thanx to all who posted. As far as the Tivo/DVD set up. I will upgrade when i get in a little better shape money wise. I just spent my fun money on a new Jump cue. It should be here this week. :)

That's what I thought. Now I have 2 of them. It's really incredible and will change the way you watch TV. Seriously.
