I don't see one mention of pool in the article. How does this 21 year old murder tie into pool?

At the beginning of the dateline episode they showed pool room videos and pics of her referring to her as a pool league ace who met her boyfriend, Steven Cook, there with a pool stick in his hand then 3 days later they moved in together ending with her violent murder that he was convicted of arranging online.

She was murdered in 2000 and looks like it took over 15 years to solve

Big emphasis on pool at the beginning of the show.

Yea, but what's the intent? Few weeks ago a murder took place in Miami next to a pool room and it was reported nationally as having taken place in a pool room. For some reason "pool room" makes the story more juicy wheather it has anything to do with it at all.
 
There was a massacre at a MickyD years ago....they failed to mention that the cheeseburgers had killed many more.
...back in the 80s, a guy as usual came to our room and hit balls by himself for a while.
Three hours later, the news said he was arrested for killing his mother with a butcher knife...just before he had come to our room....Pool was not mentioned.

The intent was to show how/where they met: in a pool league.

If you are struggling with the intent of my thread title I can help you with that.

I was trying to make the azb community aware that there was a Dateline tv episode airing right then on Oxygen network in which a young lady who was a pool player in Baltimore had been brutally murdered.

I posted this in case anyone cared to tune in and perhaps someone here knew her or her husband who was also a Baltimore area pool player.
