Pool players in the Military?

Today I read an article on this being the 62nd anniversary of the flag raising on Iwo Jima. That somehow got me to thinking about what well known pool players were in the military. So does anyone know of any?

I know that Wimpy Lassiter was in the Coast guard and wasn't much of a sailor. But I can't think of any other great players that were. It seems like most of the greats grew up playing pool and that is all they did.

When I was stationed in Idaho there was this little bar/poolhall I went to called Brew N Cue. The owner told me stories about some guys would come in there and pool would happen to be on TV and they would say "Hey! That guy on TV hustled me out of money!". These guys telling the story were stationed on a now-closed base called Clark AFB which is in the phillipines. The guy on TV, Efren Reyes.

stick that is very cool. I had a friend named Tony Softa who was in the Air Force that told me over on that side of the pond that the military had tournaments like that. I wished I had the chance to participate in a military ran type tournament that allowed you to compete at different levels.
