What's out there besides the generic cafepress/zazzle junk?

I work in an office, wearing slacks and polos 5 days a week and I normally wear polos on the weekend as well. I actually have more polo shirts than t-shirts now (more company shirts than anything). We are mostly given Callaway golf shirts with our company logo, but I don't play golf. I know that there are a few select companies that make product related polos, which is fine. Some of them are really nice.

Tiger Products Polo (reminds me of a Nike Dri-Fit)

Hustlin Polo (I like these, but it wouldn't fit in well at work)

I'm all for quality, so if none of these are excellent quality, then I will stick with my Callaway and Columbia polos.

I've often wondered why better named brands do not offer higher end apparel for customers or admirers of their workmanship. I have buddies that wear Rolex caps but they don't own one.

I'd love to have shirts....better made versions and not some $12 T-shirt with some logo slapped on it......the shirts could be collarless or with collars as it doesn't matter......just something that is a step up from what you normally see. I'd love to have some shirts that has a logo for Scruggs or Paul Mottey or Kamui etc. and I don't have to own a specific brand to desire a shirt from that cue-maker or supplier, ex., Richard Black, or Ed Prewitt, or Hercek etc. I also own a custom made leather cue case Gill Castillo made for me this past summer (great 6x12 lizard cue case too) and if he offered something like this, I'd buy some shirts to wear.

And I'm willing to pay $40-60 per shirt as long as the quality is there and it wasn't just a t-shirt with cheap screen printed expressions on the front or back of the shirt and sexual innuendos seem way too popular. You see these shirts being peddled on the Forum and ebay all the time but never the really good stuff. When I am fortunate to be in the position to be able to spend a couple of grand for a pool cue, I'd eagerly spend a couple of hundred on merchandise for some better quality shirts or caps etc.

A Breitling baseball cap sells on e-bay......only place to buy them.......for $60 to $100 and a Breitling shirt $250 -$350.......Breitling jacket goes for $600-$1,000 because Breitling merchandise is just about as rare as hens teeth. So how much would a Szamboti Custom Cues golf shirt sell for or a shirt from your favorite cue-maker? I betcha a lot more than these pool t-shirts being advertised.

How cool would a Szamboti custom cues polo be!!! Polo's can easily be embroidered with anything, that's what my company does with the Callaway shirts. The Predator and Poison shirts look like junk material. The Tiger polo is about the only one, from what I've personally seen, that is good quality.

I have had golf shirts made for events for the last few years with our Outsville logo and have had a few requests for them but have yet to start offering them for sale... I start with a good quality polo and have a friend do the embroidery for a decent price...

I could likely sell them at the $30 price point but they might not be as high a quality as the calloway polo... I would have to look at the calloway a little closer...

I like the price point for a polo at $30 with just a breast embroidery and $15-$20 for a T-shirt depending on front or front and back tranfers.....
If I do a booth for Hopkins this year I will likely have a complete line as the design work for much of it has been mocked up already...

Usually people ask about T-shirts and I see the vendors selling t-shirts to polos at about 10:1... Hadn't really thought about it other than an extension to the Outsville line.. Accu-racks and Ki-Techs were the first products out... Should have the Accu-Rack Universal and Outsville Solid break tips out by Hopkins... Was hoping to have our chalk out but it's slow go on equipment purchases for now... Maybe Shirts and Hats should move up on the burner...

PLAY THE GAME clothing Billiard Apparel

Gentlemen, please look no further. PLAY THE GAME Billiard Apparel is the hottest line on the market. Your going to ask me why aren't you? I'm going to tell you. Our line was designed for our youth all the way up. Our line was ,and always will help the IMAGE OF THE GAME, BARNONE! We believe in QUALITY, PLAYABILITY, COMFORT, and most of all CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have played this game all my life. So when we started PLAY THE GAME billiard apparel, our #1 goal was to let the billiard community and the public see the beauty of the GAME thru our designs. Feel free to browse our site at www.playthegameclothing.com .If you have any questions ,feel free to contact me, and I will assist you. As always God Bless Frank

I think T shirts should run $22-25 and "good" polo shirts $35-45.

I love that you think that and wish everyone did =) Charging 20 or more for a T and more than 30 for a polo will get your lunch eaten around here... The name in the game is hustlin... Anyone that tries to charge more than what they charge at every single major tournament is fooling themselves.. I will be selling tips, chalk, racks, and few more things w/ apparel but I am not fooling myself into thinking I can start a clothing brand to compete with Tony...

The players and fans like the brand... some tournaments he makes more than any of the other vendors... Why? He's at all of the events... If your not at the events you have no shot... best way in is Tony won't pay a penny to anyone to be a sponsor.... Outsville has that in our budget... Will the players and fans like our offerings? Man I can only hope so.......

Dave, you might Google Bowling Shirts .com.

I don't know if they are still up and running but they are much more than just bowling shirts. Pretty unique styles. I have a few from them.

Here it is.

Check out the summer style shirts. They did have the Charlie Sheen line for a while. They were pretty cool. Kind of like the Mafia Guy Goomba style.

Chris, let me just say this. Iv'e played this GAME all my life. Right under pro level. The GAME has been good to me. I have a lot of respect for the GAME. One of the reasons we started PLAY THE GAME Billiard Apparel, was to try and help the image of the GAME thru our line . Were succeeding in showing the right image to the billiard community and the public . Isn't that what the game needs? My company is 2 years old now, and already ,when they talk about BILLIARD APPAREL CLOTHING, our name gets mentioned. We don't sponsor anybody as of yet. Not to say we won't. We donate a lot of clothing to events that have a cause. Illnesses, loss of life, and so on. Were getting ready to open talks with a very large APA organization on the east coast about possibly making PLAY THE GAME billiard apparel the official line. Mind you were on the west coast. Times are changing in the billiard industry. People are starting to realize what it is going to take to bring this GAME up, into the light ,and out of the dark ages ,so to speak. Yea, there are a lot of billiard apparel lines out there. But can you tell me which ones are actually doing something good for the game? Or does that matter? I'm not trying to cause a stir, but lets get real here. There is plenty of opportunity for everybody to prosper in a industry that may look like it's suffering, but in reality it's not. Just look around at all these different organizations around the country. Anyway, have good day. CJ WILEY Says ,THE GAME IS THE TEACHER! God Bless ,have a good day Frank

I'd pay anywhere from $20-80 for a polo shirt. I wear them everyday. Quality in a polo is something that lasts, not just a fancy shirt. You can have quality t-shirts. Most t-shirts I've had, had fallen apart after weeks. I have one shirt left from "PoolTees" (Which is no more) and it's lasted years.

I wasn't expecting so many replies, but here are my thoughts so far:

- Predator and Poison polos look like crap and are probably junk.
- Tiger Products polos look like quality and pretty sporty, rather than a dull black polo with name.
- Play The Game polos are a bit silly in my opinion. From the photos, it looks like your using a third party to do embroidery on Nike polos. IMO that's not impressive. I can go buy a Nike polo right down the street at Dicks or Academy.
- Outsville polos would be awesome! The logo itself is self explanatory. But so far, the only polo with any design to the shirt itself, that I'm seeing, is from Tiger.

T-Shirts are T-shirts, there either needs to be something witty/funny or loud and proud. Cleary's +SPOT Clothing line was great, but from my understanding, he isn't doing them anymore.

This is a much cleaner shirt than this junk...

Frank this was not directed at you as I was simply stating what I see at the major tournaments.. I had not looked at the Play The Game website and really had no idea as to what you offered or what your price points were..... I also went and looked at the Hustlin USA site and they are charging $25 for Ts and $45 for polos now so I was happy about that if I do venture into apparel...

One of the problems with Pro pool is lack of sponsorship.. League pool doesn't have any real problem as it continues to grow and doesn't need sponsors to do so.... it's a free country and no one has to sponsor anything... And Tony does pay for a booth at all the venues so maybe I should be a little less critical of him as the booth revenue helps the events cover expenses...

Image is everything and I agree that pool needs a makeover...

Dave, I have a few nice polo shirts left over from the Los Angeles Billiard Expo. High quality, still new with tags in place. Also I have ball caps from my last poolroom, Jay's Billiards. Send me your e-mail (and shirt size) and I'll send you some pics.
