Well I have a class Marketing 120 at my school we have to come up with a product and do some very advanced research and develop a product and try to make a model. I would like to come up with something pool related. I just need help with coming up with a pool invention or an innovation.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks.

GIZMO to hold Case in Upright Postion so you can Work/Play out of your CASE at Tournments, without CASE going CRASH BOOM.., and Falling on Floor....... ;)

Pool Case ANTI Theft Device, or Pool Cue Anti Theft Device........... ;)

How about a small laser sight that will snap on the shaft, for those really long shots. :)

I'd say something you have experience in....shoes. Pool shoes. Make them kinda like golf shoes with rubber spikes on the bottom so your foot won't slip out from under you when you're really reaching for a ball and you end up busting your chops on the slate.

For real slow players, replace the spikes with roller balls so that they can skate around the table and speed their asses up.

And for short people or on reeeel long shots where you have to reach and don't want to use the bridge...you have slip on wooden blocks that you put on your shoes to make you about 10 inches taller.

I can't think of anyone better to do it than you....Muxy...the "Italian Leather" shoe stud of senior class '06! :D

How about a hand held computer, which can be used to compute 2, 3 & 4 rail banks, after ball locations are indicated on the touch screen.

How are you going to do very advanced research? Do you have funding or good facilities to use?

If so, I have some good ideas, but I'm not about to give them away so someone can patent them, unless they have the resources to develop them and share in the potential rewards.

Anyway, the whole concept that marketers invent is kind of ludicrous. Most marketing uses / copies existing ideas and markets them better. There are a million good inventors for every new product that gets marketed succesfully.

If you've got some resources behind you regarding research and development, PM me and I'll see if we can work something out.

No thanks, I rather take the willing members of the forums and not do legal documents, I forgot I am a 48 year old trying to make a big score on a pool product where I will make millions of dollars.

As for now I am following up on Bruce's idea.

Also Drivermaker i do know quite a bit of stuff about shoes that could get me started

Pool sneakers were sold briefly in the mid 80's. I recall when Keith was sporting a pair down at the Billiard Tavern in San Diego. They had a name that I don't remember.

Actually having a nice pair of soft soled shoes, for playing Pool, is great. They are comfortable & I am always at the same heel height, in my stance, which doesn't adversely affect my stroke. When companies like Hustlin' spring up across the land, people will start wearing nicer clothes to the Pool Rooms, that will become upscale. People like to clean up, dress casually & nice, go to a nice place & have fun. Look at the tennis crowd, look at the golf crowd... the fans & the players look well to do, they may be broke.. Perception is important to our sport

Some kind of Pool shoe isn't a bad idea. Maybe with a closed air
layer between the sole of the foot and the bottom of the shoe,
like those air mattresses to keep your feet from aching after
playing for hours.
