pool related photography

I've been working off and on for a while now on some photos specifically geared around pool for people who actually play the game.

I'm trying to come up with some ideas.

One photo i'm working on right now is for one pocket right after the break showing a really "sewed up" layout.

Others include just tough safeties etc.

Obviously i'm trying to appeal to the kind of people who would use this forum.

Anyone have any other ideas for photos?
 
Do you have a preferred medium? Color/BW, manual/digital? Staged/action shots?
I like black and white photos. I've always preferred pictures with people shooting or looking on that have a candid look about them. I know you can do a lot with digital photos and such, but I think the shots with just a table and different ball layouts can be a bit boring. Maybe you can show an example of what you do? There are so many different situations that you could capture with people invovled. My opinion, hope this helps...
 
one pocket break

I've always wanted to see high quality shots of the return to the one pocket break. Both in black/white and color. I see the defensive player in the background and the break in the foreground. No balls near his hole. Face possibly in shadow with cue in hand...trying to figure a way out of the mess.
 
I've been doing a lot of Black & White and Sepia lately at The Jointed Cue in Sactown.

That Room still looks exactly as it did 30+ years ago which contributes immensely to the effects of those two mediums.

I tried the same shots in Color and they seem "cold" to me.

I agree, B&W or sepia seems better to me for pool too.

To the OP: I've been thinking about this too and have spent some time on the table trying to come up with ideas and found it to be tougher than I thought :)

I'd love to see what you come up with.

One of my faves is the old one with the 1 in the side and the 9 in the jaws with the cueball in position for the easy carom and money on the rail. I've beat my head against the wall trying to come up with something similar for 1p but haven't had a good idea yet.
