Newbie here, and I gotta know.

In pool room or pool action lingo, what does "nut" or "nuts" refer to?

Hrm, newbie here too, so I'm curious as well. In poker, having "the nuts" is having the best hand, so maybe it's having a match laid out where you are pretty much sure to win? I've also heard of a "nut" referring to the size of your bankroll... as in, "that's a big nut to come up with" for a huge bet.

Just guessing here though. :)

Nuts

It's a gambling term that means the matchup should be a lock - having your opponent by the ----

It often refers to a spot (or a specific matchup) that should create a situation where a win is likely inevatible.

When the unfavored player in a matchup actually wins - he/she has outrun the nuts (hard to do for most).

The NUTS
a DEAD LOCK

Bascially means you have made a game that you cant lose.
