Pool rooms in Chattanooga, TN?

I am going to be in Chattanooga a couple of times over the next 30 days on flyfishing/bamboo rodmaking business. Sure would like to take my cues along and be able to hit a few balls. Any suggestions on decent places to play? Normally, I'd be on a different forum asking about places to fish, but it's too cold for my old bones to be wading around in the water!!! 😊 So, pool it is.

Should help......http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=302451

CBC's the nicest/most upscale of the venues....8 and 9 footers at their East location. Their downtown location has some big tables and several Diamond bar boxes, too. Downtown has good old school pool-hall ambiance, too.

Double Hill is in Hixson and is the only smoke free room around town, to my knowledge.

Diamonds is in the Rivermont area....lot of bar boxes and couple of 9 footers. May be the best place to find action, if you're looking for that.

spktur,

I live just outside of Mountain Home... North Central AR just about 15 miles of so from the Missouri border. Two world class trout rivers within 15 minutes of my house, two huge lakes with everything from stripers to largemouth to spotted bass to huge Crappie and bluegill, and not a decent pool room within 100 miles! LOL Actually, I think there is one in Springfield.. going up there next Wednesday, so will find out...

CBC is my choice when I am passing thru... Phil has one of the diamonds from like the 2001 US Open in the front right corner and it will force you stay on the right side of the shots and play what the table gives you... AT least for the first hour

Phil was a really nice/classy guy that smoked a cigar and had an awesome cigar room

Chris, is this the same "Phil" that's owned the C.B.C. for 30 years? I haven't been there in a LONG time. I played a big money match with a guy named Billy Ray Sudan about 29 years ago outside Chattanooga at a place called "BROWNS" - It was where they filmed 'The Night the Lights Went Out In Georgia', and what an experience that was. :) There was a lot of "flying sharkers" floating around the table (some kind of insects, still now sure what they were exactly).

I remember Phil was a really nice/classy guy that smoked a cigar and had an awesome cigar room in the pool room. Very classy Billiard Club, I'm not sure if it's the same building these days, this was when I was 18 years old.

CJ,

That's the same Phil his last name is Windham... He owns the Shallowford Rd. CBC the Downtown one and I think they just opened a new North location but I am not sure where it is yet....

He still has his cigars and more than likely he will be in Tunica for a few days.. At least he was last year....

I used to give lessons for boxes of cigars to one of the guys that worked for him so I found out he owns/owned the big cigar store next to CBC as well...

As far as locations he's been at Shallowford for years... I think there is a picture of Earl from the early 90s from a tournament they held there...

Now Browns???

Phil has always been a great guy as far as I am concerned.. I always make sure and stop and say hi when I see him in Chattanooga or out at one of the big tournaments....

Chris

Yes, it's the same Phil. The new location is about 20 minutes up the road in Cleveland TN. Brown's was an old out of time place in an area called Tiftonia as you come in from the west. It was something you would have seen in the movie Roadhouse. CJ, I remember when you came through in fact I gave you a ride back to your motorhome from the downtown CBC. You had parked it in a parking lot to keep from jammed up in the downtown traffic.

BobN, I was curious I'm originally from Caruthersville MO
