Pool rooms to be acknowledged

What's the most amount of people ( estimate ) in one room you've ever seen?

( talking actual pool rooms not BCA in vegas or any similar that's held in a auditorium or such ).

I would not have wanted to be at Art's place with 300 people in it! That is a nice room but it needs more room.
 
Bankshots in Jax FL.....a few years back, there were easily 200 people in there for the World 10 Ball thing, if not more.....Easy came down to hang out and play, and I think it was one of the first big events Shane won.....I always liked playing at bankshots - waitresses had talent and the food was actually pretty good...
 
i would have to say around here
1. mr. cues 2 and cues billiards (formerly sidepockets) - they host most all of the apa city cup and singles regional events. i have also seen them packed for pro tournaments. on the apa side i'd say over a few hundred, and maybe a hundred plus for the pro events.
2. marietta billiard club - i don't how many people were there for the gem city classic but that's a big room and it was full the f*ck up. they also host some of the apa division/qualifier cup tourneys.
3. the pool room - hell we take up most of the room on a tuesday for bca - about a hundred players. i've also seen good crowds sweating action and they have held artistic pool championships, pro and amateur tourneys (gsbt) that have had decent turnouts.
from my past
miford rec in miford ct. i can remember that place having 50 guys shooting pool on monday morning never mind friday or saturday night.
 
One of our local leagues is having their citywide tournament this weekend at Rack Em....I expect there will be close to a couple of hundred people in there on Saturday.

This past Saturday at The Sports Arena in Bangor, ME, we had between 130 and 140 for our APA Tri-Cup State qualifier tournament, plus more casual non-league customers, total was probably between 150-175 at some points in the day.
 
A few:

Our APA Citywide (8ball) tournament has 50-60 teams competing for 9 Vegas spots. so over 500 people in Shark City Sports Bar/Pool Hall

APA Citywide (9 ball) 40 teams or so for 2 spots to vegas. Q Billiards Sports Bar/Pool Hall

(APA 8 man teams)

Breaktime billiards (Naperville IL) on a friday night easily had 60+ randoms. I would think that is a decent amount for a small pool hall. (this was 8-10 years ago when I was still a teenager)
 
It is always difficult to estimate how many people are in a room. I was at Fargo Billiards last weekend for their tournament. They had 1 or 2 of the private rooms rents, I believe every table was being used, and the restaurant/bar area was full as well. Remember, there are 58 tables there and there were 72 people in the 9-ball tourney on Friday night. Most of the tables had at least two people at them and there were quite a few railbirds checking out the tourney. I would guess there had to be at least 300 and I would guess it was much higher than that.

Well.....I just got home from one of the local rooms and it has about 60 tables and each table was occupied for a few hours with at least 3 people at each table so that's 180 people who were hanging out playing pool casually.
 
At the upcoming Jay Swanson Memorial tournament at Hollywood Billiards, we can expect to have a full field of 192 players and plenty of railbirds hanging out during the first day of play. This should easily exceed 300 folks. Maybe someone can bring a camera and shoot the crowd in there. It'll be mobbed!
 
At Q-Masters during US Open week I've seen upwards of 400 people in there. The tournament room alone, about 24 tables, has 200 or so playing and sweating matches. And smoky???? Good god!

Q-Masters, 72 tables. On Monday and Thursday league nites we have 250 easy and this is just a weekaday. Like Brian says week of the U.S.Open it is a mad house. Everyone and their brother shows up to watch some of the big name pros hang out and match up in the tournament room. Like being at the Open in the privacy of your local poolhall.
