Go to BANANAS (click here for more), they know what's going on and it's a pretty decent place to practice. They have some pretty strong one pocket players there that will play fairly cheap.

$11 entry fee, $100 added, break contest, at some of the Fast Eddie's, different nights of the week.
I know Fast Eddie's Embassy - Saturday night tourney.
Culebra location is Tuesday night, I think.
Braun location is Wednesday night.
They open the tables at 7 pm and tourney starts at 8 pm.
If you don't mind traveling a little, Skinny Bob's (home or the Texas State 9 Ball Championships) in Austin has a Friday night tourney.
