Pool School A Great Experience

I went to Pool School in Providence last weekend, and I had a great learning experience. I would like to mention the hospitality of the owner of Snookers. I believe his name is Steve. He let us have the school while the place was closed. He gave us bottles of water and soda at no charge and even bought us lunch the last day.
The instructors were Randy G, Scott Lee and Joe Tucker. They were great. We spent most of the 26 hours in a classroom setting. Randy did most of the talking. He has a great voice for lectures. I never got bored. They had sound explanations for everything they taught us whether it was eye patterns, bridge hand, stroking hand, or the sam aiming system. They didn't just say do it because it works. Everything was explained, demonstrated and then practiced with a pros superivsion. There were only seven people in the class. With three pros we got plenty of supervision and assistance while we practice. I wanted to get more time to practice what I learned before I forgot. We were give notebooks, and I took plenty of notes. I knew I would forgot at least some of what I had learned so I was able to get Scott to come to New Jersey and spend another day with me. This was another great experience. Scott continued to reinforce everything I learned. We also spent some time leaning some additional material.
I cannot recommend this experience strongly enough. I think players of all levels can gain something from this school. I believe the level of the students ranged from a 3 to a 6 on the apa scale, and I believe everyone walked away confident that they had improved.
If I had to list any complaint, it was that the pretty women who work at Snookers didn't start work until class was ending

kaznj...That was a great school! Part of what makes it that way is the studetnts' willingness to come with an open mind. I enjoyed working with you yesterday too! Thanks to you and your wife for a very nice dinner! Next time I want MORE magic!!!:D :D :D

Today I worked with another student in S. NY at a really great poolroom called Diamond Jim's, in Nanuet. Jerry is a great owner, and treats his customers very well! I'd recommend this room to anyone who comes through there. It's less than a mile from the Thruway! Tomorrow I'll be in PA and Sunday in Syracuse, NY...then back home to MI for a few days rest before heading out on another trip out west.

Pool School is worth it!

I agree that Pool school is totally worth it!

I wish I would have been able to been around Scott Lee and Joe Tucker too!

As Randy and Carl have taught me it is best to learn from several resources and find what works for you the best.

I agree though, any level of player can learn something from these guys.

Remember SPF!

Dave...We did one school at Pockets in Crestwood, and are planning another pool school in Chicago for September at G-Cue Billiards, just west of the Loop. You can PM me for details and how to sign up!
