Pool season!

I don't know about the rest of you but I welcome fall and winter as pool playing season. The cooler air and the early night fall seems to get the pool player congregation back in tune. I know myself I get back to playing. I loose my tan. I start eating bad(which I'm trying to control this year). Long nights of play or just hanging in the poolroom nake me later and later for work. I have to say I love it.
Doesn't that sure enough seem to be the way it is. Its much easier to find time for pool in the cooler months. I know a swimming pool, unless indoors, looks like a good place for peguins but not me come December.
I know some players keep instroke year round. I'm damned with a love for the game that is acompanied by friends that could care less for it. From time to time they pull me from the pool room and always during the summer for fun and a change of scenery. Which has its goods and bads I guess.
In any case here we are again. The downhill slide toward the Derby and cold induced action weather that every player welcomes. I know for some it stays in a cooler to cold enviorment year round. Here in the south however, we have swings of perfect weather for pool(and football " Roll Tide").

I definitely understand what you are saying for most of the country. But living in Arizona is another story. The Summer Months are our winter and I feel most of it is spent indoors (or at the pool) playing pool.

The hard part is now when we have 9 months of perfect weather. You just can't seem to get enough table time and stay in stroke.

Two seasons for this area.

The first season is when it gets HOT in the summer 100+ degrees for 4-6 weeks.. the players flock to the pool room.

Then when the rainy season starts in November until late March, the second season is in full force.

Both are great times for matching up and lager fields in the 4 weekly tournaments Hard Times offers.

Just the same, I am here at least 3 or 4 times a week, for 50 weeks a year.

9?????

I was just saying, 9 months of it not being Summer (110+). The nights are perfect right now and the days are perfect in the winter.

When I was in Wisconsin for the past 4 months it was difficult to find anyone playing pool. Everyone was at the lakes, partying at every festival, block party, pool party, HarleyFest, etc. And the bars were filled with drinkers and not too many players.

Everyone kept saying, come back in September when all the leagues start up again, then you'll see tournaments as well. Winter is coming, quick everyone get in the pool halls!
