Surprise, surprise

I own 3 tip tools currently and have the habit of loosing them occasionally. The Ultimate Tip Tool is the only one that I have replaced after loosing it and I think it is the best tool out there. Beware the fork end tho...
Well, there is your problem. You aren't suppose to loosen them. ;)

Anybody remember the Joe Piconi...? Break cue from years ago. It was just a house cue cut in half. Not even cut down....just as fat as they come....and he didn't even change the ferrule....lol!

I have a jj jump cue that works pretty good for me, but I'm curious to know if others make it easier. I do fairly well in jumping with this one. I mean, getting over the ball I'm jumping isn't a problem. Accuracy is another issue. Just like any other shot, I figure the less hard you need to hit a jump shot, the more accurate you can be.

I guess I'm asking, is the reason you like your Lucasi better because you don't have to hit it as hard to get it over the ball?
I like the lucasi cuz I can hit more behind the ball. (man this is going to be tough to describe...) When you look down on the cueball using the JJ jump cue I find that I have to hit closer to the center of my view on the cueball than I do with the lucasi. When I do that it becomes tough to aim because the shot becomes inaccurate. With my lucasi I can hit almost a quarter ball down from my center view and get a good jump.

The only prob is I never have enough room in my case for my lucasi so my JJ is the one that goes along for the ride...

shaper

I'll never again use a "normal" tip shaper because they wear the tip down too much and you never get the shape you want. I'll stick to my sandpaper tip shaper as it works much better. you have to replace sandpaper each month or two, but this is cheap enough. it all really depends on how much you use it. I love mine and will never go back to a "traditional" shaper.

When something new came out, I'd buy one to 'try' before investing in some to sell,,,,,
WORST product ever >>>battery powered tip shaper<<< from Competition Sports in NY,,,,,IMHO

Tip-tapper.

Useless for me.

No substitute for a tip pick.

I'm the opposite, I much prefer a tapper as I find picks can caused damage on laminated cue tips, especially when the topmost layer is getting very small.

Yeah, I got me one of those. It did something that was never advertised it could do. It put a scratch in my ivory ferrule.

Barbara

That's because it has sandpaper on it. Surely sandpaper doesn't have to be advertised that it causes scratches.

Would you like to know how to polish the scratches out of your ivory ferrule?

Put them in upside down to relieve the shooting problem. Take off those green triangle thingy's, get some pocket facings from your local table installer, drill some small holes in them, and slip them on in place of the the green triangle thingies. Works pretty good that way.

As sold they are pretty useless.

Actually, this is a good idea. The pockets on a table could be made with holes in the facings so that more could be added to tighten them up simply by screwing them on. The ball action would probably be pretty close even without cloth covering on the extra facings, but they could also have cloth glued to them if needed. Then they would be the right angles and do the same job as pocket reducers.

Chevillotte tables have carom plugs that make a pool table into a carom table. Each table has a set that is hand-adjusted for that table.

The jump bridge. This is a device that you grasp to keep your hand elevated to the approximate position needed to jump a ball. In theory it's a decent idea. In practice the device is virutally useless.

I myself wouldnt buy another Its George, it just makes the tip too round when shaping. all the other stuff works good.

I have a Ultimate tip tool and like it, to use the nickle size tip shaper

I use my tip pik anytime i play, and it works great. and as far as i know it hasnt messed up my tip at all.

And now i dont even mess with scuffing the tip anymore. Or shapping the tip.

For my shaft, i just use a green scotch brite pad. and Easy Slide or baby powder.

Mine has been the TruTip shaper by Tech II. I might have gotten a bad one but I cant get it to work at all.

Hey Fred
Do you still have those pocket reducers or does anyone know where to get some??????

pocket reducers.

The pocket reducers fred was talking about are on ebay all the time, look in the books and video section.

I have a set of pocket reducers i bought back in maybe 1990. They were advertised in pool mags. They are leather horse shoe shape and they are made out of a shapeable metal, you spread em wider than your pocket and back them in. They were cut to match the facing angles. They are great. I cant remember who made them. They are in storage with my table. I think they shrunk the pocket by .5 to .75 inch. The ones that are out now i find bad. I used them for just drills. But would toss em in the garbage.

They shrink the pocket to almost jusrt over a balls width. They are tight.

The spring thing really gets in the way. .

Ever buy a Pool Accessory, or Cue that was HYPED to the Hill. Than you got it and said to yourself why.

My personal Favorite is The “Ultimate Cue Tip Tool”, and yes I know they sell how many Thousands a Year.

Got mine from a Buddy who is a “SHADE TREE" Pool Business, it was a STEAL of a Deal. Money poorly spent.

I compare it to the Swiss Army Knife with A GaZillion Blades. Can do a Few things O.K., but most of it Functions are So So or El Crapo.

The “Ultimate Cue Tip Tool”

So what your Pool Stuff you would NEVER BUY again...

They were made by Barco. I used to have a set but I gave them away. I got my table shimmed.

Mine would be ...

A hard box case. It was my very first case given as a
Xmas present, and I did not care for the style at all.

The other is the magnetic chalk holder. I have spent countless minutes looking on the floor and under the pool table after bending over for a shot and having the chalk get pushed off.

I hooked mine on my Pocket, and it still work CRAPO....

I'll never buy the Jeremy Jones personally signed shaft cleaning towel that's presoaked in honey.

However, they do put out a product that does work. It's the Jeremy Jones shaft slick goop that you apply each time before playing. Then, all you have to do is use 1/4 cup of Jeremy Jones Baby Powder between each shot to activate it properly.
