pool table height

is there a specific height for a pool table (measured from floor to top of rail or cushion)?

also the height of the light above table?

any info appreciated..

The distance from playing surface to light isn't really set in stone. It depends on several things. How strong the lights are, how many lights you are using, what kind of lighting device(s), etc. The distance from the playing surface to the bottom of the light shades on my table is about 36 inches. I have a 9' table with 4 shades.

From the WPS Equipment Specifications:

2. Table Bed Height
Shall be between 29 ¼ inches [74.295 cm] and 31 inches [78.74 cm].

That should give you a good measure for setting a table's height. There is also a spec for the height of the cushion nose above the bed, but the bed height may be all you need (depending on your purpose for asking).
