Pool Table in a 128 Million Dollar Mega Mansion

FYI, the above link was two years old. The auction came and went and it sold for $141MM:
....
Thanks for the heads up. Which was $126M for the house and $15M to the auctioneers. "Really, it's just our standard percentage."

... Also, sounds like a bit of a fixer-upper itself.
Just a few earth movement issues (in California?) and suits from the neighbors. Also the unobtained permit issues. And the mold.

I wonder why rich people hate color? Ive seen so many pictures of ugly houses, especially kitchens, that had beautiful old woodwork that is being painted right over replaced by the ghastly white painted MDF and white melamine.

Some people hate the wood look cause they grew up in a home with that brown, wood paneling in ‘every’ room. Bitter? Oh, a tad!

The lights are stupid...
I'll take my Littman...could do surgery under this light.

I figured the fake wood look would die out but even today its popular, only now they spray it a near black color.

what gets me is the flooring, old houses had really long planks , 30 feet was common. then as wood dried up they went to short pieces of flooring. Now Im seeing prnted plastic laminates and instead of printing it to look like the old flooring they make it look like it;s a floor made of 3 foot pieces. I always question why they would do that.. since it is fake anyway , why not make it lok like they used longer planks?

i see wood as akin to the chrome on old cars. it was kind of special and if you bought a caddilac you got more, same with woodwork, it was never cheap to have fancy built in ornamentation, it was prestegious. It's like restoring a car and painting the chrome all black. The only reason one does that usually is because the chrome is expensive to restore.

Sorry not impressed and another example of to much money and not knowing what to do with it
God forbid you help others
I dont care if you give it to your local Dog shelter WTF

What - high end trades-people/construction workers shouldn't make a living?

personally I dig more minimalist surrounds, but if I had to pick a palace to live in/table to live with...

Yeah, 15 full-time gardeners who keep it looking better than Versailles. I'm comfortable with some nice marigolds and a cactus or two.

And in the race for most expensive house.... This place is sort of on the market for a few billion dollars. You can rent it if you are a little short right now. Sadly, the billiard table appears to have a wood bed and is not 2:1 length ratio.

I think no matter if you play on a crappy warped table in a crappy old house with bent floors or live in a mansion with a guy cleaning your balls ;-) ... what happens is you get accustomed to your lifestyle.. in both scenarios you have as much fun, the rest is just keeping up to the Jones's. It's common for rich people to have more money worries than middle class. I bet the guy can't play pool , will never wear the cloth out , has no fun circle of misfit pool friends, instead "business acquaintances" My take is this poolroom has less fun and belly laughs going on than one would expect.

So much negativity. I’m not sure what’s wrong with some rich person wanting a pool table even if it’s just for show.

I'd rather live/play here.

pretty amazing estate. hadn't thought about the wood bed and 2:1 length ratio..when did those come into vogue?

If I had that kind of money, I'd have a nice little apartment that I'd never see and I'd live the rest of my life in a different luxury hotel room every week. I suppose that's why I don't have that kind of money...

Definitely a players table…. All kidding aside can it be made to play like a Diamond.
