Pool table light

Here is the link for Lite-systems.

When you say LED high hats, I’m assuming you are referring to recessed lighting? Some folks call it canned lighting.
I currently have a Lite-Systems FinN. Should have gotten the Twin. Also have LED recessed cans

We offer a GREAT product. Our phone number is on the Last image! Congrats!

Sorry to OP for slight thread hijack…

@GoldCrown - in my home room I also have the FiN Wide, its great. The room already had recessed can lights in the ceilling which I kept. When I turn those on also the whole room is way brighter (which I personally don’t like, but some do) - but in my case the can lights create lots of glare on the balls, even with diffused LED bulbs. I get simlar effect during the day when I have the rooms windows shades open. So I basically never use the can lights and always have the window shades down. Do you have any similar issues and do you use your can lifhta in conjunction with the main pool table light when you play?

I have the perimeter light mentioned, above my 9' Diamond.
It works well and is BRIGHT.
I am considering the purchase of an LED-specific dimmer switch.
The manufacturer suggests one not be used because it may damage the LEDs.
At the cost of replacing the strips and the time to solder 5 unions, it's worth the risk to me to be able to dim the
lights to a brightness that resembles the local rooms' brightness.
If I get around to installing one I will post my outcome on AZB.

The square shadows below the balls is a mind-bender for sure.

At my age. I need brightness. As much as I can get. Shades down as that light distracts but for me brighter is better. And I do not think the FinN is bright enough without the cans on. Again I should have bought the Wide FinN or Twin to begin with.

I have metal lights night with LED bulbs in them but they were a cheap set and I don't like the looks with this table.
I see,,,,,,,, I had something similar over my 9" diamond Professional for a couple of years, then one day a matching 9 ft Professional light popped up on facebook marketplace for $60, and only a 50 minute drive from me. I went and got it, an older one that holds 6 8 ft flourescent bulbs but it just didnt quite have the amount of light I wanted. I looked into replacing the bulbs with LED and did. Tons of light now.

That is a nice looking pool hall!
Yes, we’re very lucky & happy to have this new development. Old place called Edgies was well known for years, now its called Jimmy’s and has a whole new vibe. There was an AZB thread about it recently. The new owner Jimmy is a super nice guy, seems very switched on regarding both pool & billiards. He’s also put in 5 gorgeous 3c tables and seems interested in promoting and growing the 3c community, with free clinics and practice sessions, which is super cool. On top of that, decent food and great rates! This place looks to become one of, if not the premiere Bay Area room.

Yeah I think I'm leaning that way. Are they dimmable?
I’m not sure but they are LED and my general understanding is that LED can be a bit tricky when it comes to dimming. I’m not saying they can’t be dimmed but I wouldn’t be surprised if they can’t. On the other hand, you only have to pay the cost of a dimmer switch to see.

I bought the perimeter light for my 7 foot table. I hung it at the height per the recommendation in the instructions.
The light is bright but I don’t find it over powering. At the recommended height I personally don’t feel it casts bad around the room. The quality of the product is nice. The light will have light shining thru at the connection points for the 6 sections. Easy fix, just some masking tape and black silicone and your in business. It does not come with any kind of on/off switch. However a $9 dollar remote outlet from Home Depot works great.
I have seen the predator lights and they are nice. Top notch and have a dimmer But for half the cost and free shipping the Billiards Perimeter Light is well worth it.

I have one of these as well, in fact the picture of the diamond table on this link is mine. couldn't be happier.

I have qty 2: 2x4 LED panels flush mounted to my ceiling end to end over a 9’ table. Cheap, available everywhere, low profile, and bright.

Another option is to build something yourself. I built the one in the photo, and I used fairly inexpensive dimmable LED lights that I got from Amazon. There is an on/off switch on the top of the light that has a built in dimmer. In this photo, the pool table light is probably only at 25% or so, while the house lights (also dimmable) in the ceiling are at 100%. We normally have the house lights set lower and the pool table light higher, but I couldn't get a decent picture any other way. But with this combination, you can customize the light settings, which is nice. It could be made as simple or complicated as your tastes or skills dictate. I used birds eye maple for the perimeter with cocobolo accents. The bottom and top surfaces are 1/4" maple ply, and there is a framework made primarily of 1"x2" pine. There are colored LED strip lights on the top surface to throw some mood lighting onto the ceiling. It may not suit everyone's taste, but maybe it will provide an idea.

Someone did a diamond diy clone using metal building studs and led tubes . Cost was quoted as $100. Can’t remember where ( Facebook or Reddit?) they had pictures didn’t look bad , don’t know if they had covered the leds with some sort of diffuser

It’s ok. I would have preferred a grate over the panels. But none of the led lights have that grate unless you build a box for them.
Yep I almost pulled the trigger on a few panels but was wondering how I'd install diffusers on them, if necessary.

Right now I have the jankiest setup, but it actually is working out ok until I can afford a better setup. I have 2 of these screwed into an old antique stained glass fixture that looks like it's from 1950.
