I agree, you don't want or need to pay mechanics to sit behind a windshield if you really mean cross-country. Anybody who can assemble an IKEA bookshelf can disassemble a table, pack and load it. Of course the safe thing if you aren't there would be to hire pool table guys. Then you pay a shipper and hire a mechanic for set up.Where to where? What kind of table?

And if you do move it, I would wait at least 3-6 months before assembling it to let the wood acclimate to the climate. Would hate to break something just because the wood and humidity settling in.
