The Colony Club incorporates four different lounges/rooms. Its most unusual feature: the Bombay Billiards Club, which has self-leveling pool tables.

Google it buddy.

My understanding is that cruise ships are basically rock steady except in very rough seas because of gyroscopic stabilizers and the pool tables are specially made and have a stabilization system of their own.

Royal Caribbean has pool tables on the Radiance Family of ships (Brilliance, Radiance, Jewel and Serenade). The last cruise I took was on the Radiance and I picked it specifically to see the pool tables. :D

The tables have gyroscopes and the slate moves as the sea rocks the ship. Its quite effective but if you play long enough you will see some position play get totally hosed if the boat is in rough seas. There are a few problems with the tables unrelated to the moving slate. First, the lighting is terrible and they do not have pool table lights over the tables. Instead, you have lighting that is designed for the room and since the two tables are connected to a bar and just a bit further away a stage with seating for about 300, its really poor lighting. Of course, the sticks really suck ass but I think they at least had Master Chalk. If I go again, I am going to bring a stick with me like a sneaky pete. No way those port of miami luggage rats will be touching my Justis case/Bender B/J and Szamboti.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines offered at one time pool tables on several of their vessels including the Brilliance, Radiance and the Navigator {all ending "of the Seas"} out of Miami among others around the world. I have been on all the ships here and actually hits some balls on a table at sea. Dont look to slow roll anything, HAHAHAH

hey thanks for the info guys. it turns out my g/f and i picked a royal carribean w/o knowing it was a ship with a table on it..helllllz yeah something to do other then play craps all night!

I play almost every night, but stangely I feel like a loser for both having read about this on a message baord and having knowelge of these self leving pool tables.

Kill me now! Do it!

Just kidding around with you guys.

I played on the self-leveling tables a couple times while I was on a cruise. I remember the table not being exactly level if there's a bit of a wave outside. The cues are horrible. In fact, they were the worst cues I've ever played with. Before playing on it I thought I would play a lot of pool on the ship, but I ended up not playing on it because the condition was not bearable.

How about this picture?
