Pool$ vs Poker?

most players don't know high school probability. which even if not gambling leads to them not being able to correctly ascertain of which options on a shot are the correct one.
Most players may be more concerned with the pedantics of pool where simply "playing smart" is sufficient.

playing smart is knowing your total probabilities of each shot or having a decent grip on them. if you don't you are really playing in the dark.

after playing many years you get pretty close to the right choices just from having situations come up over and over and playing your results.

Sure you can (ok, might can) expand your mindset to cover more scenarios but I suspect pool players are more concerned with what they can give, need, rather steal etc...
