Pool$ vs Poker?

Which demographic with equal skill levels wins more often.
I'm saying the green felt on top of slate wins in this area.
They may not be betting as much but.
Who's your pick?
We've got too many casinos in my area. Killed all the decent action. The real gamblers and what used to be backers are on the boats. Standing around with this crazed look in their eyes. 😉
You can still find low end stuff, but the big hits are few and far between.

the proliferation of gambling to most all states led to the pool hall money moving to casinos.
coupled with a new generation of players that were and are not in to gambling.

I have won more playing poker than pool.
The former you don't have to be the best, if you can bluff.
You can't bluff playing pool....the ball goes in or it don't.
Keep in mind when you win at pool, unless you are in a tournament, it’s one on one wagering.
And when you compete, it’s usually a race to something requiring multiple games you need to win.
The amount you win is also fixed per match when you wager. So now let’s look at poker.

Generally, you are playing against 5-6 opponents at the same time every hand. In pool you just
need to win more games than your opponent. In poker, it’s not how many hands you play & lose.

It’s hands, # of hands you’re dealt and decide to play. Thereafter, you can win only a few hands
and walk away with most of the money whereas another player could win 3x as many hands as
you and walk away a big loser. Poker rewards differently because the pot size is never a fixed
amount like with a wager. Heck, you could be dealt 40 hands & only play 3-4 but win them all and
walk away the big $ money winner. You can’ t do this in pool so there really is little analogous
comparison of pool and poker. This is truly a nonsensical thread but others see it a little differently.

A pool player when he loses feels/sounds/acts Differently than a poker player. Like another said.... pool is ''one on one'' gambling.

There’s never been a top pool player who didn’t think they could play poker. Poker took over for betting horses in keeping pool players broke.

The answer to this question really exists in the words that you wanted to use but didn’t. The words that describe the thoughts in the back of your mind that are on a shelf behind a curtain shrouded in darkness between thoughts you had fixed in your mind and those long forgotten. Thoughts you once shared with a midget you met on a greyhound bus headed for Fairbanks Alaska. The midgets name was Larry as far as you can remember but that’s another memory you have lost on your journey to oblivion.

Not necessarily.
In ring games I've walked away big winner after having only put together 3 or 4 racks.
Same with side bets in a room full of players and gamblers.
They players might be having a race to seven for a grand, but the side might well exceed 10.

A broke dick pool player, which I was at one time, and a broke dick card player, the game of pool offers our players....a better chance at winning if not..... another way at getting back in the game, lower the bet play for $1 or $2 gives you a way back in.
I remember when I'd save up for two months to go to a big event to get my ass handed.
The $5 in pool has allot more value, when you know you can't loose., and you haven't eaten.
Card thinking is not comparable.
When you've been in this situation, in pool/life your perspective is formed because of the setup, and how you ''get it''. good/bad :)
One on one.
Pool...
You can always see em tomorrow the rooms got free heat and bathrooms.

real key to success at most any venture lies in your ability
Cole did well at the card tables. He had the ability to palm cards. He told me of tipping his stool too far back at the blackjack table. When he raised his arms to regain balance, he showed an ace in each palm to the camera. It wasn't long until he couldn't gamble in Nevada at a card table. His account included, "there ain't a casino in Nevada that I haven't been run out of or Run out of."
