Caroms and one pocket are where players go who don't have the skill to compete in pool. Like how goalies in hockey start out as players until they realize being goalie is their only chance.
I beg to differ here. I know quite a few people that play one pocket and can run with the best of them in rotation pool as well. I would also go as far as to say that most of the decent money games are One Pocket now where i play pool.
The more I watch Snooker the more I want to play my pool games of cut throat, 8 ball, even 14.1. And work on my stroke and longpotting.
The abilities displayed in the current world cup have been off the charts of anything you have seen the last 15 years.
Selby looks to be a valid successor to Hendry and O'Sullivan, albeit playing completely different.
