Poolhalls in NYC?

Hey all, I'm fairly new to pool, and have just begun to take it seriously and I was wondering if any of the New Yorkers on the forum knew of poolhalls in the uptown portion of Manhatten. I frequent Broadway Billiards, SoHo Billiards and Amsterdam Billiards, but I cant seem to find any poolhalls past 21st street, which is a pain when your stuck around central park and have the urge to go shoot, causing you to make the trip all the way downtown. That and it's always nice to just go around checking out poolhalls. So anyone know of any poolhalls in uptown Manhatten? or just any poolhall in the new york area, I'll get around to visiting them all someday. =)

Nothing much uptown now that Amsterdam is downtown at 11th and 4th Avenue, which was the old spot for Corner's...

You have a bunch in Queens if you head that way....Master's, Spin City, Rack's....those are a few that are a short ride from Manhattan.

Good Question and now for mine:
What about Northern Jersey or other points North being that I do visit NYC and will not be far from the GW Bridge?

E 86th between Lex and 3rd, East Side Billiards, They're alright, they've got 2 of the tightest tables in NYC. The people are alright, it's not Amsterdam, I like the upscaleness of Amsterdam personally. I miss the old place, just a short walk from my house, although, I have been saving money!

As for Northern New Jersey, there is Willow Billiards in Hoboken, Herbert's in Secaucus and Comet Billiards in Parsipanny (which is where I'll be tomorrow). I also know of Castle which is supposed to be a very good room. There's quite a few, depending on where you're going to be.

For Northern NJ, you also have Crown Billiards in Pompton Lakes, Clifton Billiards in Clifton, Guys and Dolls in Belleville and Rockaway Billiards in Rockaway. If you're looking for good rooms and small action, Comet, Crown and Castle are all great spots.

Yes, if you're looking for action, Mr. Christian Smith would be happy to oblige. He's the polite character w/ glasses who will happily point you in the right direction of the closest ATM.

Is the Golden Q still in Queens and is Guys & Dolls still in Valley Sstream? Thank you. Johnnyt

I thank you all for the locations but the ATM is something I hope to never need. Love to play but do not gamble.

Jude - noticed from previous threads you are in my old area of Brooklyn. I lived on Lincoln Road and Bedford Avenue many years ago. Hope all is well and thanks for the information.

Golden Q is gone. In its place is some bastardization of a poolroom. I can't even remember what it's called. It's too painful to look.

I'm sorry, I've gotta go. I'm gonna cry.

Carom Cafe in Flushing it's not far from the GW bridge. The website is http://www.caromcafe.com you can get the address from there.

I believe you meant White Stone Bridge, which is a bit different.

Carom Cafe is about 20 min cab ride from the city during off peak hours.

Excellent place for billiard players. However you will not see too many good pool players often even though they do have some decent pool tables.. 3 nice snooker tables too btw.
