Pool's Greatest Rivalries??

Classic and recent history...

Classic-wise I would say a true Angered and Fueled rivalry existed between Mosconi and Fats.

Recent history-wise, the Parica/Reyes was a sight to see - in the backroom of course.

Earl versus any foreigner also is entertaining--I love to see him rocket the nine in and hold his cue high, chanting, "U -S - A!!"

There is a local here Stevie Moore has robbed for years- in numerous disguises. I think Moore has it out for him. I saw moore shoot full-cue length of the table jump shot to a ball a foot from the opposite corner 10 out of ten tries without touching the side rail. For the measley price of 100 bucks. I think he has it out for the guy. But then again, so does every local...

back in the day.....put any of Hopkins, Sigel, Varner, Rempe in any matchup together and watch the sparks fly!

Earl and Efren would get my vote. The hong kong challenge tapes are insane, the finals at the SRO w/ efren's famous kick, etc. etc. It seems like every time they matched up, pool history unfolded. It was just a perfect clash of styles. Earl's firepower and break, and Efren's creativity and control.

Justin.
This is my pick also. Every 9 ball player should see the tapes of the Hong Kong race to 120 between Earl and Efren. It's the best 9 ball i've ever seen.

Earl vs. Efren
Earl vs. Ralf
Alex vs. Shane
Fats vs. Mosconi
Newman vs. Cruise
Jeannette vs. Alison (two most recognizable women players by far)

and also, Jasmin vs. my heart

Corey Deuel and Mika Immonen have quite a history together.

If they go to fighting, I like Corey.

But Mika has been owning Corey on the pool table the last few years.
I'll take Mika all day. Corey doesn't look like he could crush a grape with both hands. Mika's actually kinda buff these days....(not that it means he can fight)

Me and my brother Danny in the 60's. We had more 50 -49 straight pool games than you can imagine and I had a hair trigger temper where Danny was concerned. He could give me the "look" and send me into the stratosphere. I once through a cue so hard at him that it shot through plate glass like a javeline. Ahhhh those were the days. We are good friends now.

How about Earl vs. the short jump cue. It really makes him mad sometimes.

the jump cue won that one, we have all seen the videos of him using it

I really like watching Earl and Bustamonte play. You are going to see great shots and they both appear to have extra (I want to win) against each other.

My fav. player to watch is Alex P. I think his game is like the best of Earl and Bustamont.
