Porter Cable Laminate Trimmer

Hello,

I have looked all over for a pin wrench that would work to get the retainer off of the lower bearing with no luck. The porter cable service center was no help either.

I came up with this simple tool that was very easy to make that makes getting the retainer loose a breeze. Maybe this will give someone else an idea.

Very Nice..... great idea. Sure beats breaking It loose with a punch, less damage to the holes, and no impact to the rest of the router. I have a case opener for watches that would probably work well If It weren't for the spindle shaft being in the way. I thought about something Like You made there, but never got around to making one. Having several of those type routers I should probably make one the next time I have to change the bearings. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice.......... what is the diameter of the pins??

Kim

1/8 steel pins. I have also found that once you get the retainer off if you run a 1/8 drill thru the two holes and drill them all the way thru it makes it even easier to tighten up and get loose next time.

Sweet!!!!!!

Very nice idea sir.....Thank you for your post and pic very informative......Ray

Great idea........... I will be doing that.......

I have a PC router that is 2 years old and I have rebuilt it 4 times. The same brushes are still in it. They are still ok and the commutator doesn't show any wear. Has anyone replaced brushes yet?
