Possible Rambow cue

Remove the bumper in case it's a Doc Frye (if there is a penny there). But it is either that or a Rich as previously mentioned.

It is definitely not a Rambow. Someone scribbled that in there. Vintage cue for sure, but not the jackpot you were hoping for.

I'll take it down and I'll say one more thing. That old man Captain Tom never lied to me. I knew I couldn't find help here.

You mean find someone who would tell you a lie......sorry it is not what you were lead to believe it was. These things happen.

You did find help.....you wanted info on cues, and this is the place to get them. Do u want us to lie to you? That won't help u either. So grow up, and face reality, you don't have a prize possession, because if u did, I'd have made an offer on it already.

Based on your original post, "Captain Tom" didn't get the cue from Rambow or have any direct knowledge that it was a Rambow; rather, he said that an old lady told him that Rambow made it for her husband. Clearly, it is possible for the cue to not be a Rambow without "Captain Tom" lying to you. Maybe she was wrong. Maybe her husband was wrong.

That is no doubt-100% take it to the bank -bet your first born -that is a without a doubt a Rambow cue!!!

There you ya go, help asked for and provided, at least the kind of help you were apparently seeking. I saw several people offer their thoughts on what kind of cue that was but you did not seem happy with the answer. It seems the only correct answer you wanted was someone to reassure you it was a Rambow whether or not that is true.:confused::confused:

Over the years we've seen many false representations of cues and often the stories seemed believable. In many cases the owner totally believed the cues were authentic. It doesn't mean your friend lied. What it does mean somewhere along the way, somebody did. Don't shoot the messenger. This cue could not be mistaken for a Rambow by Mister Magoo.

Rich

Nice one Sean. I have seen allot of old cues from similar era that have confused me as well. Always looking for the Grail.

Taking action on how long until it gets listed on eBay with nice old lady story.

I hate it that he pulled his pics, but like Tate said, you can't "shoot the messenger" when you're soliciting help/advice on a cue. I truly hope he wasn't fishing for bad info to confirm and then list it falsely on ebay. There has been enough of that lately and frankly, it hurts the hobby.

If you can't find "help" here...

you must be helpless. You won't find a more knowledgable group of cue folks than right here.

Original post said he thought it was a "Rambo" cue. Well, that's still a possibility.
