Possible Unicorn sighting

So for most of us it's a quest, chasing after that illusive stroke or just some level of consistency. After conversing with a trusted friend the other day he suggested shifting my weight a bit, so i did but could quite figure out how to stand with this "shift". So the following day I went to one of the only rooms left that opens at 10:00 am to go practice and play around with my stance.

Funny enough this was easier than I expected or at least easier than other tweaks that have been tried in the past, it felt weird but also felt good if that makes sense. Well the possible Unicorn sighting happened when a stranger asked me to shoot a quick game with him, we agreed on a quick (possible) race to a 100 since time was not in my favor.

And boy did I come out strong, opening with a big shot from his somewhat poor break that felt sweet. It was total confidence in what I was doing and/or seeing and just letting the results tell the tail, no of that talking in the head "is this right, is that right" as I am sure some of us suffer from. Before you know it I was on a run of about 24-26 balls.

My plan was to go back out this morning (i was there on monday) and see how it felt and if I still had it, not wanting that to be just one of those days that I was shooting well but since there was a new stance involved I am leaning more towards the positive side. Unfortunately I came home this morning from work with a headache and went straight to bed a stayed, so i'm off in a few to another room to get some practice and see what's what. (part of the experiment was to play at all 3 of my regular rooms to really test this thing out)

Now i'm not no beast on the table so a 20something ball run might not mean much to some but playing on this for the first time with a new stance was great, so i'm off chasing after that unicorn hoping to spot that elusive bastard once again.

One down

Ok so all in all things are good. I may never ride that unicorn but I am sure I will one day get to pet or feed that *****.

My new stance is holding up so far and I've noticed that it has even changed my grip a little "for the better". Now it's all about becoming more comfortable with this stance and make more natural as I find myself going back to the old one every once in a while or on certain shots.

Sometimes starting over is the best thing you can do.
