Great thread...thanks to all. I posted some time ago, thinking of a new cue, asking about various factory cues..predator, schon, Joss, etc. Then Chris, the Palmer collector, suggested I think of customs. He was right....a friend in Arizona, who I share another hobby with, is having a custom made, and kindly invited me along. So, two cues have been scheduled. Both will be wrapless, but low on bling...I haven't selected any details yet, so this thread has helped a lot. Light wood with a dark wood handle? Dark wood with a light wood handle? So many choices....:D

As food for thought....the darker the wood in the handle, the more the palm and fingerprints are going to show...and you'll be constantly wiping it down. A lighter colored wood in the handle, and they are almost impossible to see.

Thanks Lisa. I was thinking cocobolo with a maple handle section...maybe just a few silver rings for a wee bit of bling. Nothing tooo over the top. :)

My Edwin Reyes "Boiling Point" cue.

No problem, I am currently playing with an ebony Josey 'uber-fancy' sneaky pete, and find myself wiping off fingerprints all the time.

I HATE WRAPLESS CUES!!!!!!!

Or, at least I did....until I bit the bullet and bought this one off of Bamacues. Something about it said "BUY ME".....so I listened to the cue, and dropped the money. It was just too sharp looking to pass up.

I played with it for about 5 hours last night, and LOVE it! It's got a perfect mix of looks, weight, balance, radial pin feel, tip diameter, and predator shaft low deflection. Unlike the other predators I've hit with, this one has pretty nice feedback to it. I'm not a super stellar player, by any means, but the cue felt so right that I was able to run my first rack with it in about 1/2 hour after picking it up....and it just got better and better throughout the night.

I am now a convert.....I love my wrapless cue. Mr. Joe Callaluca did a great job on this super sharp player.....and Joe was great to deal with, yet again!!

I susect my Josey would qualify as a wrapless cue, so I will post a pic.:D

The cue looks short because I merged the butt pic with the forearm pic to give a better idea of the overall effect of the design. (I really need to get off my butt and get my own pics taken, but I'm usually too busy playing with it!! Lol. ;) ) A pool buddy of mine says the inlays kinda remind him of the old 'gingerbread' trim they used to use on the old victorian-styled homes. Couldn't be happier with this cue!!
