Man that is SICK as HELL who came up with that dzine???in the butt??

The front end is modeled after a Schick Gus-style 8-pointer cue, with the shorter points lengthened to mid-forearm (Andy's style), and clovers tips instead of ivory spears. The butt sleeve inlays were designed by me using National Geographic's Egyptian heiroglyphs -> modern alphabet translator web page. Ivory windows and slotted diamonds are separate classic cue design elements, but I've never seen them brought together until I requested it for this cue (that doesn't mean mine was the first... I've just never seen the two used together previously).

huh a thread to post pics of your cues in the cue gallery section, who wouldve thunk it.

TyrLeon,

Cues are funny. I almost bought this same Rubino cue in 1997. Haven't even seen it since then until you posted your pics here today. Kinda wild how they get around....

here is the full pic that was requested. sorry if its not the best, but just like pool I'm not an expert......yet.

It's funny that you say that because I purchased the cue from Mark K. in 1998 and it has been my playing cue pretty much from then until now. I've had many offers to sell it and came close a few times, but I just can't seem to let it go.

yes, there are 8 mother of pearl inlays in the joint.

....plus, the 8-prong blank on this cue was one that Paul bought when Palmer closed up shop in the early 90s (a blank they used on their 3rd catalog model #19 cue).

one of the many reasons why I haven't parted with it. would love to find another blank like it....

I'm personally a big fan of Paul's cues. I have personally hit with 4 of them (including mine) and I loved them all. Paul is also a super nice guy. I'm always on the look out for more of them, but they're hard to find. Lately the only other one that I've seen is the one on ebay. I did see a purpleheart bj cue that the owner claimed was a Rubino, but I never got around to calling him back.

Gus Szamboti made those for Palmer. Barry sent me the receipts - I have them here. He can consider himself very lucky to have that cue.

My suggestion is to not let it go. I posted these receipts for you - they are printable. Gus made those 8 prong blanks for Palmer. What Paul used was a leftover.

Would you or someone be kind enough to let Paul know. In case he made more, those owners should be aware of this.

I met barry szamboti two years ago at Valley forge for the first time.. Cosmo introduced us.. we talked for about 40 minutes... and everytime i saw him at the expo after that he said hello to me by name, from that little time talking to me and the respect he shown me through the entire weekend by remembering it, makes me truley believe he is a spectacular and well respected man in my book.. very down to earth and i truley feel better just knowing the guy.. wether he still remembers me, i dont know .. but i feel better knowing him.. :) if that makes any sense..

Here's my input.

I've posted these before, but I'll post them again to add to the thread and for those of you who may have missed them. I'm very happy with all three of my PFDs and I have 2 more on the way. I really like working with him on cues because you can go to him with a design you think is good, and he'll help you refine it and add those little touches that make it stand out. And for those of you reading the "best living cuemaker thread" all my points are sharp, and I do have one uni-loc joint that I requested to match an existing predator shaft, but almost everything leaving his shop these days has a radial pin unless otherwise requested by the customer.
