what's the roughly estimate to get the simonis 300 rapid and install... I was going to give my friend $100 bux to get it installed.

doesn't look like a ten-footer. Seems to be the same size as the pool tables, so I'm guessing a 9

I don't know if they still make them, but around 15 years ago they made 2 different models.

The pool room i work in has 3 5x10s similar to the ones pictured with the black Formica, and the club i belong to has 3 solid oak 5x10s.

Neither model in my opinion is engineered very well, but can be made to play well enough.

My high is 3 or 4, not quite sure. I don't play much.

VietSoClassic, those are definitely 9 foot tables. You can tell, in the back that is a pool table, and the angle of the tables doesn't change as you come to the foreground. Hate to burst your bubble here, but a 10 foot table is significantly harder. For example, I have a friend who is an avid 3C player whose bests I happen to know. He has run 9 on a 10 foot table, but 22 on a 9 foot. On a 9 foot table every shot is coming out of a corner, so to speak.

someone told me it was a 9 1/2ft oops

On a full-size, regulation carom table (so-called 5-by-10) the diamonds are exactly 14 inches apart and that should be exactly six ball-widths.

Ira,

From contacting rooms across the country, I have encountered many strange occurences. Some rooms have Olhausen 3-cushion tables. I have evn heard that Brunswick makes heated tables now. and that 1 or 2 rooms have them.

Robert,

Thanks a lot!!! You are insulting me!
Believe it or not, although I was happy to win 2 tournaments (not all of them), I actually felt guilty. In the Eight Ball Billiards tournament in October, I will be playing with the A players, not because I deserve it, but because I do not want to win the B tournament again. I am playing in Peabody because I believe it will be the Premier B Tournament of the year with the best B players in the country participating. If I win that one, it will be an accomplishment.

Post your high run and how long you have been playing. :)

High Run - 6
been playing - 3 months (give or take a week or 2)

I definately have to agree with what everybody else says. Running 6 after only 3 months is a nice accomplishment. May i ask if it was on a heated table or not........now on to my high run. I have been playing off and on for about 30 years or so. My high run which is 14 was accomplished on an old Brunswick made in the 30's or 40's and was not heated. It was roughly around 1974 or so and was at a pool room named Ruggy's, and i was playing a friend a 25 point game for $50.00, Alot of money back then.. (that is all i play. no short games for me). anyway the score was something like 17/11 his favor when it happened. I have had several runs over 10. but never have i ever passed 12 again. Unfortunately i do not get to play anymore because of circumstances here at home. But maybe someday i will again play some. I have always wanted to play in some tournaments just to figure out what my average would be over a period of time. My biggest problem is that i cannot get used to the heated tables. the place where i play here in Albany NY called the Golden Cue has both types. Gosh i just wish i could play some more.....but anyway, that is my story on how my high run occured.......................mike

It was a brunswick 5 X10 ... unheated. I hear what you are saying with not being able to get used to heated tables.. I went to the Sang Lee tournament and had the opportunity to play on a heated table.. I ran a 3 straight off the back.. then all downhill from there. I just couldnt get used to it.. luckily for me.. all the 3 cushion tables within 50 miles from where I live are unheated...so for me... its not a big deal.. but if sometime far.. (and I mean really far) into the future... if I want to play in tournaments I will have to get used to it. :(

High Run

My high run is 3 and I've been playing for 2 months. But after that run It took me 10 innings to score another point, that's why I like this game :D .

I played the other night... played 15 points in 13 innings with a friend. I pulled a 25 points in 18 innings. I finally pulled a 7point run. I was proud of myself. 2 of my innings I missed. I need to get on a 10footer seriously.:)

6 for me. Did 5 about 10 times before I broke through to 6. Have played for about 4-5 years - over a 30 year period. Started on old Brunswick tables for 3 years, didn't play for 25 years, and have been playing again for the last year and half on very nice equipment. It isn't surprising that I'm not very good because I was a lousy pool player as well. Now I only play 3C. Badly. But enjoyably, for me.

6 is my high run. I've done that 4 or 5 times at this point. I've ran 5 many times. I just cannot break the 6 block...I've actually missed absolute naturals to a big ball for 7...

Oh well, a big run is awesome, but I'd sure like to run 2 or 3 much more often, and get 1 out of a tough position much more often...

high run

9 run in three cushion
6 pack in nine ball
94 straight pool
5 in 8 ball

My high is 4. I mainly play by myself as there aren't many 3c players in my area. Been playing "seriously" for a couple of years. I have my table set up at a local retirement home. With anytime access. Anybody in central Iowa wanna play please contact me. I'm just 40 miles NW of Des Moines. I would love to knock 'em around with somebody. Doug
