Posting my video session

What format is it in?

Perhaps you can import it into Moviemaker which is a free program, and then save it as a .wmv format. For just over 1 minute, save to about 5mb, then upload that to youtube. A 100mb file can take hours to upload.

Worked no problem!

Never looked like missing Hal :-)

Not as funny as that other 2 hit video where you threw the cue on the table..lol

Looks real good

Looks good, I think there should be a forum (just like wanted/for sale) of just videos on pool playing, I could watch them all day long.

Tap Tap. Alot of good players here.

You guys putting up first class video of you playing pool is bad enough but showing off your in home pool table/room is enough to make a guy ill. I will have to use thought stopping techniques today when I go play in the local tournament to make a ball. Actually I like to see how many people have tables in their home. I am just green with envy. Being a practice nut, I think a table in my house would not go unused like so many people report.
Warm Regards,
JoeyA

See if this works: If it does, I'll post more next week. I have to go for now.

Here is a 10ball video. It took over 5 hours to upload.

10ball video
Video quality is very clear on this one.

Seems you've got a good eye for potting and you read the patterns pretty well and pretty quickly.

Your stroke gets a bit quick on some shots. Including your break, where you'd get more power with a slower backswing and more follow through I think. Not that the follow through adds power directly, but it looks like you're choking the cue a bit..let it fly through.

With the shot you scratched on, you might have been able to avoid the scratch hitting it more as a softer nip-screw as we call it (low draw, but not so firm). Perhaps with a touch of left so your contact on the CB can be thicker and hence decrease the CB's travel to the left. It's not an easy shot, but very useful if you can judge the swerve and throw.

I know a guy who shoots exactly like you. He plays pretty decent. Yeah I would just say smooth out the stroke. Also when I play at home I wear sandals, it makes a difference. That way I don't ruin the carpet and I am at the same height I would be at the pool hall.

Good video, nice table, great room! Thanks for sharing that Hal! You play a good stick!

Thanks for all the comments. I'll post maybe one or two more when I get a chance. I fixed the 10 ball link also.

Thanks

New video added with some commentary. Don't make fun of me. :D

9ball video

It's a toss up whether you'll make in onto the IPT as a player or a commentator first:D

But seriously, it's helpful to see what you're planning, and you made a pretty good job of all shots, except perhaps the shot onto the 8-ball, which could have done with a firm stun through to bring the CB closer to the center of the table. Instead it looked like you took a hesitant swipe to put a touch of OE on the CB and cause you weren't commited to the OE, you underhit the shot.

But heck, I often mess up like that when trying to talk someone through the shots.

Enjoyed the vid! Good solid shooting.

Thanks. You're right about the 8ball. My video seems to speed up. I wonder why. I bet that's what inspired the comments about my fast stroke. I really don't stroke that fast. I think it just appears as though I do.

Thanks cgriffin. I'm investigating what's making the videos "speed up". I think I need to break down and buy some RAM.
