Hello,
I am trying to learn as much about cues as possible, invested a pretty penny and have had as much fun making and fixing cues stuff as I do shooting. I almost have gotten to the point of not shooting vs working in the shop. CNC will be here next week.
My issue is I want to make JP's, not cues yet. Just plain old fancy JPs and soon with the CNC real fancy.
The question and issue I have is how to list on here and I want to be on here. I have seen some of the most mind blowing cues in my life on here and it actually is pushing me to want to learn and do more.
I see all the fussing on the sales thread and lord knows I don't want to piss folks off, just learn, sell a couple JP's and hopefully get more folks interested in my stuff. I LOVE MAKING JP's. And yes I have a bunch to learn, I am just getting started and no way I can do stuff like some of the stuff I see on here. I am not looking to copy but learn.
How do I do this, gain trust and make stuff you like and use this place as an venue to sell JP's. Nice cues needs nice JP's. I've never pocketed and money on any cue related item I've ever sold, it always goes right back into more cue stuff.
Make one listing with 10 or so? individual? I am not computer skilled as it took three days to figure out how to post a picture on here.
Every dime I get goes into buying material, machines and a cue here and there. I basically am selling all my cues now to buy more machines and such so I don't know about selling on a website.
I've been on eBay since 98 and it sucks, but it has worked. Then I found this place and thought I was in heaven, but now I see folks arguing about post and I've been posting, not selling much, well mater of fact I've done a whopping $70.00 since I've been on here, so my $70 from here hasn't helped money wise, don't want to cause you serious buyer aggravation by me listing my JP's or my cues. Now spending on here, I've dropped some bucks on material and machines so I think me being here has helped some.
Sorry to ramble, just looking for advice and is it even worth me selling on here, sold over 100 JP's this year, just none here.
thanks for any help and at least you have to give me some credit, I didn't post this in the wanted section..lol.
One last note, some nice folks on here and also some real Dicks. Guess it takes both to make a community.
Thank you for your time,
Steve Symons

Hey Steve, about the different array of people on here I've learned you just have to take the good with the bad. There's more good on here than bad. If you don't let yourself get caught up in the BS drama you'll enjoy your stay here at azb much more.

As far as if you should sell your jp's here or not, of course you should! This is the biggest, best pool site there is with a huge customer base for someone that has something great to offer like you do. One thing that I always do is include my cell phone or email on my for sale listings. Reason being is because there are probably thousands of people who lurk this forum without ever signing up. So if you have your email or phone number listed, those people that cannot PM you know how to contact you. I've sold a bunch of stuff on here over the years to non members who called or emailed me.

Other than that, there are a few outstanding custom JP builders on this site. Alton and Mr. Baxter are the first ones to come to mind. Years back, Alton made me a set of custom jp's with ivory top with Gus Szamboti's pictured scrimshawed on the top to go with the Gus cue I had back then. Great work. So you do have some competition as I'm sure you already know. I think if you produce a quality product with competitive pricing, you shouldn't have a problem as there has always been a market for custom jp's and there always will be.

Sorry for the rant, John

I think your for sale threads are spot on and the JPs look nice. I would have ordered a set by now, but none seem to match what I am looking for. Nice work and nice threads. You have nothing to worry about.

Well, making this thread was a good move, so you have that going. It got me to take a look at your joint protectors. :)(and I barely use jp's)

Your pj's look very nice. Hopefully things will pick up for you on here.

Thanks for the advice, I added contact info. Just was not sure, was trying to do the right thing and step on here. Yes I know there are some guys on here doing JP's, they are good and some I've seen are mind blowing. I am not there yet, give me 6 months and I will be a lot closer.
Steve
