Power cut-off for taper machine

I have a taper setup that I put together with things I accumulated over the years.

When doing rough tapers on 50 dowels or more it gets tiresome to have to stand by the machine and watch it come to the end to shut it off. I got a 30 amp roller switch and put this switch together that cuts the power to my lathe, router and power feed when I am not standing there to stop it myself. It comes in handy so I do not have to stand there the whole time.

I have limit switches on all axis of my cnc mill along with an estop switch, i wouldn't have it any other way.

You make neato stuff Busbee. I liked the pics of your taper bar system that you made for that one. In fact, I liked them so much that I copied the pics.
I doubt I will ever get to or need to make my own taper bars but I like collecting pics of peoples brain storms and jigs that are made to make like easier in the shop.

With a little talent, a person can save a ton over store bought.

Without Limit switches, tapering seems like much more of a chore when you can't even walk away for a minute. Nice solid switch you have there.

Here's what I did on My deluxe. low voltage Dc so I used 2 micro switches. I think they were probably Honeywells or something similar. The switch plate can be added or removed from My carriage as I need to use them, and I have a track with sliding lockable stops so that I can use them on any length tapering that I'm doing at the time. I was worried about using them for fear they would give out, but I have not had a crash yet with them in use. They just plug when In use and when not I can just plug the 2 ends together on the gear motor and use it without them as It was originally used before the mod.

The poster's switch is a "snap action" switch, for anyone who wants to find one online to buy. This will also bring up "limit switches". I don't know the difference really, if there is any.

I put one on one of my 1340's(i still get nervous tho) to stop it when hogging squares, so I can do something else.
