Practice practice practice

Pool Erotica (not porn 😉):
From the slow kiss to the slow chase, now the delicate touch.
My lemonade therapy program led me to practice that I have neglected. The use of the center punch has helped as a training aid.

To become proficient at anything 1 must practice while also learning solid fundamentals of stance , bridges and stroke. I practiced the L and 15 no count for hours and hours as a kid. That’s how you learn to control your cue ball while making balls.

My Slow practice has given me the luxury of examining my fun da mentals (CJ ism😉).
My favorite Coach ism is "if it ain't broke don't fix it!" Yet even Ronnie admits to tinkering, uh trying to get just a little closer to perfect.
My first and foremost reason for my affection for pool, was I can always learn. At 69+1 since the age of 24 it still holds true.
Aldz uh CRS might be a factor 😉, however the light bulb moments are still just as fun🤷.
Barry Stark is a Legend in my mind. YouTube video s are my source for the basics.
Old habits are hard to break so the sooner the better for finding the optimal foundation and mechanics.

Another Legend Story:
Ronnie Allen reaching that level in my mind after reading his Bio in Billiards Digest. I got to meet and spend time with him in the middle 90s.
In the course of our getting to know each other. He asked me what game we could play. My reply was bar box 8 ball for $10. He declined. Later he put the bite on me for $40 after he watched me score $320 playing 9 ball on the Gold Crown.
So my position is that entitled me to the LI-MOM title. (Might be a Freud ism)🤷

You have to put doubt in his mind. Because if he gets on top of you, he walks all over you.
Is the quote.
Having rock solid foundation and practice lubricated mechanics, gives me the best chance to open strong. Never know which mentalcase will be at the controls.🤷

I noticed Judd shooting with both hands using the rest. He shoots opposite hand at 16:30 from a precarious position. Even though he missed it tells me he considered it his best option. He takes on another difficult shot with the right at 23:30, with a good result. He didn't appear to hesitate before taking it on, Confident.
Something I didn't know was that the age difference is such that as a beginning player he idolized Ronnie. His opposite handed shooting indicated that he was paying attention to emulate Ronnie. Ronnie spoke of emulating Steve Davis right down to the shoes he wore.

The Drive: A day nothing seems to work. The important part is the physical therapy at this time, so the challenge is to follow and inspect each step. It's too easy to develop bad habits if I am daydreaming and whacking balls. Well unless I am doing it right.
Whew, did my time. Time for a buggy drive.🤷

The bunt; is what I analogy to my slow practice. Jackie Robinson and Nelly Fox were the bats I preferred. 36" allowed for major choke up. As lead off hitter, a single was more value than a home run. If a bunt was in order I want it to be precision. The squeeze bunt. Bottom of the 9th....... another reason to practice practice practice the bunt.
So the precision: The sweet feeling seeing the laces and lable as the baseball hit the bat. Makes watching the tip go through the stationary ball seem uh pretty simple. Some would consider Mo Norman simple.
Can't find a Segway to K-I-S-S ...... I sure do love a slow kiss.....so back to it.🤷⚡

The Slow Kiss on Scotch:
One point for kiss
Two if within cues butt(tea he) on finish
Three if Frozen.
March just like the Army. Easy to keep track ........left right left.....your left our left......left right left!
Fun competition is elevation of skills as I do my physical therapy.🤷

Three ball kicks for 2 weeks had a huge effect on my game. I expect the slow kiss to have a similar potential.

Therapy prescription was..,one handed. (Jacked up is the only way) 😉
Session starts with a time limit option 😉
Chase Tail light practice 🤷

Here's a great video on developing skills and talents...

Thank you! I find the video very interesting and stimulating.
I think/hope my daily practice has elements of challenge that make it rewarding.
👍

Flavor of the day: Windage.
The story; Was traveling from Seattle to Denver on $30. Got a $10 nineball game. The table was small and had a huge fan at one end. If the ball hit the foot rail it would come all the way back. What a homefield advantage. Whew just remember I survived. Maybe only +$10 but.🤷 Could have been closer to the $100 that I figured the game to be good for. 🤷
Both doors open gives me a big variable in monsoon season. should be fun.😁

Limping Lefty prevail, 10-2, gotta crow on that one. 😉 The slow kiss played as a baseball or maybe tennis. Just equal opportunity, so 2-2 then Arun of 8 points as the double was uh 2.

Chased tail, starting at 10-2 spot for left ..,. Right employed doubles to prevail. 24-16...
The left provided best precision at first. The right paid attention and was able to take advantage of power that lefty ain't allowed.🤷

What an "Eye Opener"😉
Ships log:
Evolution has me opening with equal opportunity on the slow kiss. Scotch sort of. Giving me a perfect playing field for the eyes closed challenge .
The left opening an early lead, is evidence that I built a better foundation. The late start with attention to the Basics is what I attribute that to.

From the beginning.
I bypass a lot of the survey as I am using a prescription situation.
Stand at Attention using my cue(tool) as a measuring device.
Analysis has me in the same stance kind of like Ichiro.(thanks Coach Herb)
Following the waltz 1-2-3 I set my foundation.
With 4 point stance(thanks Coach Mchargue). Bridge hand - chin - pectoral (just under the nipple) - rear hand.
Once I am set and before a stroke, I closed my eyes.

Watching Mark shoot the long pink was like watching Superman leaping a building in a single bound.🤷 My opening attempt was more like Granny navigation of the 3 steps down to the garden. Holding the rail the whole way.
As this is an ongoing investigation.... I Will REDACTED.😉🤷
