Practice practice practice

Significant first from the one eye practice; I bumped the cue ball!! Well the first time in years.😉 Since implementation of personal rule that is, look at the cue ball any time the cue is moving forward.
Maybe just a quick cycle through the 4 options for eye hand combination. Will do it first thing and call it the wash the face.🤷

Omaha! Will be the name of my favorite position in Chasing Tail, as 69 is taken. 🤪
Still have a few candidates though. The challenge of finding paths to multiple points keeps me entertained. Not to mention the therapeutic value. Plus it keeps me out of the road.🤷

As to the No Chalk: The inner child asks, " but, but what if I need to spin the ball?" The inner adult reply is, "find another shot...and unless you are mowing it....get off my lawn."

Ah the fluke festival today. Reminds me of all that I can learn from near misses and resulting flukes.
News flash; I have arrived at a reasonable explanation for the hand holding Unicorn. It was a bad rail! No, I know I have worn that excuse out in the past.😉 I had noticed a loose spot in the rubber about 6" long right next to the side pocket. Had not made it to the fix it level. My previous experience with loose rubber taught me that it makes the throw from English react opposite of expected.
That explains how the ball could strike the rail short of the side and still open up to go cross corner.
Moral of the story? My bad, I did the rails with contact cement instead of rubber glue. Note to self. Get Rubber glue next trip to town.

Unicorn escape by an inch. 2 ball banks cross corner 13 goes into the right side. The cue ball heads straight for the lower left hand corner missing the pocket by the narrow ist margin.🤷 Oh what fun.😁

Obtuse angles, relate to;

1.
annoyingly insensitive or slow to understand.
My definition 😉Or perhaps the bait when hust.....uh er playing pool.
2. Greater than 90 degree less than 180.

Knowledge of available shots improvement of average.

The only way you can be hustled is trying to hustle. But if that's what you enjoy. I'm available.... for lessons. I pay for 'em and I charge for them. Uh Crickets. So uh recreation stakes. You know just a way to keep score.
Minnesota Fats found a client or two that had big recreation budget.🤷

The natural triple; bank the 10 straight back gives 15 to the side...3 points 😉. Maybe Unicorn if I can follow it in 🤷

The dreaded statistics:
I have a log on the wall(it's my wall) . Start date of 2-7-22. It documents the scores, noting total score.
The evolution of Chasing Tail could account for a portion of results.
Last 10 totals average to 26.9.
Trimmed the first 25 to minimize any scoring or rules change. So 10 average to 22.7 with at least 25 scores in between. If nothing else it makes me feel good 👍😊. Isn't that the point of Therepy?
17 position, giving a game of golf analogy.
The score system gives the baseball analogy, with singles through the home run.
The Australian rule of scratching scores double adding a wow and luck factor. With the magical Unicorn scoring 6!
The possibility of running reflect the heritage of pool. IMHO Alternating break is uh tending towards a Kiddie game.
A true statistics guru would log high runs and or come backs. 🤷
Consecutive wins goes to the Right with 10 days in a row.
(My tournament record was 5-7 in a row on Friday night in Benton City. Didn't go every week, uh preserve the game. A player that played even with me was banned, I was welcome. )
However Lefty owns the margin of victory at 22-3.
The highest total came from a Unicorn game so gets the asterisk 😉, at 34. An average of a double on each hole, uh er shot.
What fun.

Habits, first Mark the score! When the big shots work....... I have full focus then the elation of ....It Worked! Could easily sleep the score. I once saw a Player sleep the 4th consecutive 9 ball break for $10, With his opponent racking. Possible just customer relations, I never inquired post match.😊
Breaking Old Habits is still and I expect always will be a challenge.
Soap box: er uh Note to self; Eraser out and Start over.

This early position has me shooting the 5. The chance at a Unicorn seemed unobtainable.
Had an epiphany. Bank the 5 at the 13. Hitting the 13 towards towards the side takes the 5 to the bottom right corner and the cue ball gets the chance to scratch in both top corners.
No I didn't make it but all 3 came real close once.🤷😁

The double kiss: an optional high run attempt can be given to success hand. C J pronounced a 10 unobtainable. He could be...uh I haven't posted uh.... can't remember best but not close.....yet.

This early position has cross corner the 8 and go up and back for the 9 to the same pocket. Haven't hit it yet.

Evolution: just started using the alien break/rack paper for all cue ball positions. As the wear is showing 😉. I definitely am in favor of only light marks or none. Measure ing for ball locations is part of my visual/mental calisthenics.

Story time; Bellevue WA at The Seed 2 in the late '80s. There was an Asian community. Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos. I figured they were possibly....uh rescued. Anyway they liked to gamble cheap. $1 on the 5 and $2 on the 9. They didn't mind me harvesting approximately $50 a night. In a 5 handed ring game. I learned why when Vue took me to Tacoma to play the guy they played for $50 a game nine ball.🤷
My personal rule was Splash the cash. Never make more than 3 balls in a row..... unless I happen to shit the 9.

Survival, rehabilitation, therapy and learning from my mistakes
Could be the title for my autobiography.
Ships Log: Survived my safety boo boo, a couple of days ago. With a little help from a wind gust I got knocked off the step ladder at 2'. A backwards fall that reminds me how quickly gravity works 😉.
One of my favorite pool excuses, "I caught an updraft!! That cold wind blowing up my skirt startled me.🤷" Well Karma has a way of pointing out masoginist remarks. I have learned, I hope.
The upside is, my left arm was catching the backward fall. The down side is the weakness found in the joint. Rotator cuff therapy that can avoid surgery was something I learned as a part of the VPP national conference. The small movement while lying on the other side was the prescription. With the left arm held so that the forearm hangs as a pendulum. Then just rotate at the elbow moving 6" ark from chest straight out. Whew that is the spot where I feel it.
My condition is that I have the full range of movement. How ever velocity is a huge factor. I proved that. My discomfort zone is also the motion required to plant my left handed bridge. Thus I must slow and perfect that dance step. So I have an upside 🤷 This forced me back to one handed practice the first time around. Reminds me how important finding the balance point and center for gravity in the step. Even a slight stumble with the reflex to move the arm quickly brings a jolt. I was feeling better and had no discomfort in the simple ark movement for the left handed break. ..it brought me to my knees.🤷
This is a strong reminder today of what I can do using only my hand and fingers. The left has the best accurate play but no power. So it left me playing for singles with a maybe double on a couple. It's a learning experience. What fun therapy.
Game summary, had the left putting together consecutive singles to build a strong lead. Then the right response of double and triple hits. Final score was 11-11.🤷😉

Ships Log: Left hand opens with a 4 in the opening kiss shot. Probably ties my consecutive points in the quest for the unobtainable 10. Provided me inside insight. The power I can generate with just the hand uh finger s. Surprise myself 🤷. Reminds me of the "alligator arm" only in reverse. I notice that often when players seize up at the hand and end up shooting from the shoulder. I know what it feels like.😉. So emphasis on No Shoulder is powerful accurate. Plus the velocity I can attain with just the smooth pendulum movement using the weight of the cue is surprising.🤷 Another upside is my right hand is watching and learning without being proded with the jolt to the shoulder.

Back to the Basics! Pocket speed is today's challenge for the left. Reminds me of the important practice of the bunt in baseball. The accurate placement of the bat to the ball. The accurate strike of the tip through the cue ball is job 1.
