Practice practice practice

As for the best scorer on the team. Well that came about through necessity. As I was too incompetent to pass to a team mate. Kind of made me uh.... Special.

Simple? I can find amusement in the simple kiss back shot for the entire morning session.🤷
Striving for the frozen finish.

While Judd indicated he doesn't spend a lot of time thinking of technique, he mentioned the flick of the wrist. I think the finger action is an unheralded aspect of what he thinks of as wrist action.
In this practice session his hand and finger action is easy to observe. His action looks very much like what Barry Stark teaches.

In the discussion the commentator mentioned his base and the impact. Kind of what I was referring to regarding jousting.
My stance has me on the jousting horse and going in for impact.

The Mo Norman method:
Mo asked the caddy, "what is this hole.
?" The reply was, "driver, nine iron." So Mo hits 9 off the tee then driver from the fairway for ball in hand on the birdie.🤷
In 8 ball when I take a bank early..... when there's other shots that are easier...... There's confusion in the lesser players. When I completed the run out....the opportunity for understanding was available..... most figure I just got lucky.🤷
The Fear factor: I need to remind myself.......if I am feeling apprehensive, it doesn't end well if I go ahead and shoot.
Get up off the shot, walk around the table and shake the stick under the table the whole way.(to chase the dog out). The reassessment provided same solution. Get down again and shoot with confidence. Well confident that it's my best chance.🤷 Mike Gabby taught me that move.
"Is Grampa leaking knowledge?". "Nah he's just pissing on your leg."😉🤷

Just remember ed the time I kicked the 8 ball cross corner when the cross corner bank was available. In the finals! At the handshake my friend and strong opponent was inquiring "Why?"
The reason:
The kick allowed me to take the cue ball in the direction of safe. With his balls all at one end, the bank would have left him more than I was happy with.

Review time:
Since electronics were down this morning I reviewed Billiards as it should be played by Hoppe. The player of the last century according to Billiards Digest.
From the Forward said:
I dwell only on the ABC's of the game the stance, grip, bridge, stroke, etc..........
Take each lesson step-by-step and don't eat your dessert before your soup.........
If you think you know all this--------go over it again. It's like seeing a show twice-----you always find something you missed.
He enumerated the fundamentals in FUNDAMENTALS--THE KEYNOTE
1) Position at the table (stance)
2) Grip on the cue (balance point)
3) The bridge
4) Cueing the ball
5) The Stroke (follow through)
6) Application of english
7) Speed and force.
My good fortune lessons lasted 6 weeks and the schedule reflected Willie's order.
No joke on the value of the review.

Memorialize ing each step:
For me is knowing the reason or logic I employed to get the answers. Then examine my execution.. . Step one makes me think of Ichiro. His routine for each pitch was distinct and precise.
Spending a week in the construct of the platform (the stance) was my first lesson. Hard not to want to work on all the magnificent 7 at once. Don't! Perfecting my stance includes the why and daily re-examination of the execution. So the pocketing of balls isn't that important in practice.
Stopping and repeating, even in slow motion is part of my regimen. The whole session if necessary. When I go into combat, I want to be confident that every brick in my foundation is set well (and right).

And oh yeah, after one week I would present my platform for a grade. Hopefully I pass and move on to The Grip.🤷

Dude, I'm hoping you're just making the expert competency mistake in which case, you need to slow down, explain the background of some of the things you're referencing and quit assuming your audience knows what the hell you're talking about.

This happens in tech a lot. People forget that laymen have no underlying knowledge or understanding and they assume a base knowledge in regards to what they're referencing.

You jump around so much and make such seemingly irrelevant references that me giving you the benefit of the doubt on this just being an expert competency mistake is being way generous. Otherwise my previous comment of "Cocaine is a hellofa drug" still stands.

Well, I still don't understand the irrelevant cocaine reference. However, Thank You for your input.🤷

It's a quote from the Dave Chappelle show...

Being a Simple Person, I have no clue how Dave Chappelle is relevant. My guess would be that he's a comedian and you are trying to follow his lead.
The "Thank you for your input" is wasted on those that don't understand. If you don't understand go back to the beginning is the crux of my method.

Just really getting back into playing, As of practice right now I am working on this left right wobble I have with my back arm. For the most part i am hitting straight, but every once in a while i am hitting about 1/8th tip off center and putting unwanted spin on the ball. Years ago i use to be able to feel this movement, I don't think i have enough time in on this round to feel this yet

The grip instructions I got watching Barry Stark on YouTube, really helped me Sort out a wobble I experienced intermittent.
The grip part 1
There are 4 on the grip.
I try to follow his teaching, and find the snooker style to be the way I can achieve the best and most consistent accuracy. My chin and chest touching the cue give me feedback in the early part of the stroke.
My method of watching the tip strike and go through the ball is what works best for me. That's the only place I vary(intentionally) from his teaching.👍
