Practice practice practice

Lassiter was Wimpy because of hamburger.
Irving Crane was The Deacon but I recall seeing one of the two(best guess) as The Surgeon. Now my brain is tickled.

I found McManus incredibly interesting and hard to pick up all that he was laying down. I will review again well it's got me right in sync with my rail first program. I loved the expression on Stephen when he confessed to Learning.

I start out with the same old drills then spend a couple of hours doing something a little more fun.
I’ll just freeze two balls to any rail about 6 inches apart, setup a shot on other end/side of table, shoot the shot and try to position CB between the frozen balls. Sometimes after one rail, sometimes two.
Even when you mess up you learn so much about CB control, sometimes I think my tip is too fat to actually get that little 1/16 of an inch inside or outside to position CB

When I bought my cue from Cole it had a waterbuffalo tip. One that Cole valued over the cue. When we met to exchange the 2 butts 4 to 6 shafts and case and gear, for the $500 I loaned. The first thing he checked was to insure his 6 tips supply was intact.
I was running Triangle tips and the waterbuffalo was to high performance for me at the time. Not anymore.
My Triangle chalk has a slight lip of the paper wrap that allows me to smooth out any buildup. The lightest layer possible is my method. That is when chalk is allowed on my table.

The Truth: Kind of (wink), Just a doddering old man. That believes in making Rude people pay for their insolence.
I studied Cole and Efren at every opportunity. The thing that really struck me about Cole was his shooting platform and its construction. Such that it seemed that once down if he passed out the shot would be executed.
Oh gosh an aside: I just caught a view of Mink playing in the Qualifier, where she put some incredible skills on display. Seriously good form and even switched hands after considering the rake. She hit it perfect. She is worth study as she has definitely done hers. I remember Ronnie speaking of working with an academy.......hmmmmm?

Oh gosh!
This is pure Gold. A good look at her form and some good looks at the eye pattern at times. Looks like Ronnie to me(shrug).

This is the clip I was looking for.
As I stated elsewhere, her form looks like Barry Stark and Ronnie's influence seems obvious as well.🤷

The one handed GOAT was Ronnie Allen. Has led me to making one handed my first morning exercise. I kind of like the feeling when I surprise myself. However Ronnie's legendary shot at Whitey's place in Tacoma humbles me.
With all 6 pockets of the table containing money. He made the one handed spot shot with no rail. One attempt for all the money.

Good Easter morning 4,9,23.
The rising sun is feeling nice and warm. However the shade line on the table has me inventing challenges that keeps the balls out of the bright sunlight.
Short range challenge this morning. One handed rail first, race to 10 left vs right. Go.

Well Right opening of 9 made me find a longer shot.undaunted Right laid it in behind the 7 for a 3 points hot.

Tuesday 4.11.23:
Perspective day as we buried Princess yesterday. She will be forever with us in our hearts. Our little butterfly Pomeranian that adopted us a long time ago.
Challenge-O the day is the Z bank.
Lefty is assuring that I get plenty of reps.
From the tri-pad on the head spot, the crotch is pointed to a half diamond from the side pocket . Offering the Z to one of the three targets on the foot line. So the first efforts gave lots of looks at the first few inches and giggles.

On the fields of friendly strife. Well we still have rules....well negotiations come after chance results for the one handed Lefty. Think of the movie Multiplicity.
For the rules committee. Right hit the 8 point shot but juggled the other 2 cue balls that stayed in their holes. Foul? Oh he'll no Lefty is tired. On to the Mosconi challenge.
Watching how Efren measured the shot. Walking around the table and finding the angles. Possibly from the final resting for the cue ball and best angles all the way back and putting the perfect special sauce on the cue ball.

Lefty is all better with a bridge and comes up with an 11 point shot.Well maximum with 2 for the rails and the perfect finish with the balls in the holes and touching.
Now to hit the head spot to foot spot Z, without disturbing the other two picture ops.

Grady Mathews gave some gold in an exhibition appearance with Mike Massey. One of the nuggets was to practice taking the cue ball to the target from various points on the rail.
The open close effect of the z bank is reliable. Running English will stand up on the second rail. What fun.

Upon further review, the 7 ball is Lefties 11. However the 4 ball is not an 8 but a 9.
3 for in thehole
3 for touching
2 for the rails and overlooked was 1 for the white over the pad.🤷
By now I can't remember which hand closed it with the 6 point shot on the 1 ball.🤷😁

4,12,23: The power of the aspirin. Shoot uh I mean hit the aspirin.... Mr Herb taught it in baseball and it applies to pool nicely as well.
My cue tip is approximately aspirin. I visualize the aspirin at the core of the cue ball. My goal is to put them together. I expect to be able to keep all my strikes to the cue ball within the aspirin. Slight variations in degrees can yield vastly different results.

Ah the Slow Game:
The 3x3 form is my appropriate first exercise.
The Fun part is finding the Challenge-O shot negotiation.
The slow start physical therapy first but the mental health is better as well.
The standard challenge is.
Delta formation.
Wing balls set on pad to optimize the rear rail kick.
Race to 9 or 10 or a result that is cool.🤷
First one handed. Sometimes it's so much fun that I take it to the second cue ball which is designated Mosconi.
After the two wing balls the head spot to foot spot presents the challenge of find the shot. Can'tbe a baby shot.
The 2 railer out of the corner presents an appropriate challenge, with the 2 trophy shots sitting on the wings. A disturbance of them would receive extreme scorn. The worst!

I noticed McManus expression when calculations were being made. My guess was counting which Willie Hoppe taught.
That gets me to the angles. Slow rolls to the rails is enlightening when I experiment with the slight variation of rotation I impart to the cue ball. Ah the Fun part.
I might have got done early.🤷
The Right just nailed the 2 railer for a game set and match 8 point shot. Whoop E!

Therapist said I need more. Well heck, I never got beyond the Mosconi form. Well it's better suited for the rail first shot. Mark Williams rail first shots are incredible.
The rail first I was thinking of comes around 7.5 minutes but it's all great stuff.

4.15.23 Saturday: Much anticipated match this morning.
It's Ronnie's opening match in the World Championship. Playing Pang Junxu. What a lesson.

The morning stretch and flex. While watching the match. Just like going to the gym. 🤷
Tai Chi is available while watching.
