Practice what I Preach

The exhilaration of, "I Got It!!!!" Making the final cut to the corner. Makes a good way to start the day. Shrug 🤷‍♂️ Lefty led the way but Right got to say, "I Got It".

The Form and Formula.
The Formula starts with
Be a shotmaker
Hense the challenge.
My contest is built upon
The Colin's potting drill. I think 🤔 😉
I move the first shot to last and then shoot the targets in order. Shoot till a miss then change hands.
Just an hour a day. Workout the full stretch every shot.
Perfecting the form gets the reps with this challenge. Well for Me. Shrug 🤷‍♂️

Perfection of the form can lead to making an impression with The First shot and of course the first game. My successful experience
Playing small tournaments started with the First impression. A break and run would get me extra shots in later games. Well usually 🤷‍♂️ The strategy was do one but never again. It kept me in the B tournaments. It also kept me at a small contribution to the fund. Playing pool after work was more better than watching TV 📺.

Get the Point

Off the side pocket point to the striped 13 ball.
Reminds me of a practice that I employed back in the day.
When I had won the flip and stood at the head of the table and they were stalling. I would bounce the ball of the side pocket point back to my tip. And or bank whitey off the point to opposite side rail to scratch crossed corner.
So this should be simple. 🤷‍♂️
One handed left vs right. Go!

Okay, mapping is under way.

Images are reversed. Right surveys 2 rails to the blue stripe 10 ball. Lefty dispatched the titty shot with a 4-5 Salvo. Right service 0-9.

Right gets the hit and score first . The 2 railer gives me the chance to practice what Grady preached. Going to a prescribed point on the first rail. A situation that often arises in 8 ball. Go up and down the rail gives me the reps for the fitness program.
Right score first with a 5.

Lefty lays in a 6

insisted on the 🏆 photo. Oh well, plenty 0 time to refresh the Colin's drill.

The morning after league ass says mint has bitter sweet taste. Losing the final game wasn't sweet. However prevailing against a incredible shot making machine (that was Fee Male eek) was sweet. My revisit of the Colin's drill paid a dividend. She shot Gooood.

The PhysicThe Emotional dynamics leads me to exercise to maintain my fitness. You know the Boy Scouts Oath, very similar to the oath I took as a Cadet. I still strive to live by both.
Fight or Flight is the natural response. My practice strives to develop habits based on the computer output. As the adrenaline rush is something I don't get the chance to practice.
So the march.....left right left. Your left your left, your left right left.....whee. Lefty trails 3-7 score tells me where to go for the current shot.

Oh well the current debate in the other thread has elevated my adrenaline and and, I am Up to a run of 3!!!@wheeee!
The sad part is I was at one time and 8. 🤷‍♂️ don't pay attention to the numbers. Just do the workouts and journey on.

The Left come from behind victory is proof of concept. The emotional side used the analytical input from the Right with a pinch of feel to prevail.

Oh wow it's Sunday! The morning after. The first little tournament in a while. A real pleasure attempting to revisit "The Good Old Days ". Back when I played my best.
Valley barbox 8 ball race to 2. My briar patch and my game. It led to some fun and interesting competition. I made it to the point match where Geo prevailed. 🤷‍♂️ The next match had me playing "the 700+" guy. I pack a 541 currently. It ain't the size of the dog or the number. I prevailed. I played my best and got the rolls. 🤷‍♂️.
Final chapter has "it's late" negotiations with Geo. Considering I need 4 to win the Big 😉 money. $60 to 35 for second. We agree if I win first set we chop. A fun competition with him winning first and my break and run second game, Announces GAME ON!
Oh I yearn for Australia rules as I made the final 8 and went 3 rails around to freeze whitey to the rail just in case. It was a spot shot type. I made the shot only to have whitey drip into the corner. 🤷‍♂️ Oh so close. 🤷‍♂️ Oh it feels good getting back into form(I hope ;)

Oh cool my final shot was the Colin's drill spot shot. That's a proof of practice concept award. The scratch was a failure to adjust the speed and angle to perfect as the cut is a centerball shot for my best make percentage. So speed was the only adjustment and well I missed it by oh a hair. 🤷‍♂️

The Kicks Like A Mule course hones the perfect cueball control. The Colin's drill makes a shot maker. First be a hitter was my World Class baseball coaching.
Jiu-jitsu would compare to the cueball control. Knowing when to shoot and when to duck and hide is the Fun part of the competition. Putting them in handcuffs, well metaphor icky. Knowing that you are playing Who Dean E influenced my decision making.

Well the uplift got me to a run of 6 consecutive pots, running my Colin's variation. Now to see if Lefty's up to the challenge. 🤷‍♂️

Oh wow! No way no how but after Right opens with a 6 Lefty's Percerverence with the challenge had the Left finish with a pair on the last 2, for a 16-14 win. Just about an hour work out. 🤷‍♂️ Mission accomplished.

It's about Feedback or harvesting data. Watching the tip impact the ball is the Start. Following the cueball as it departs can give information as to the transfer of rotation and or indicators of cling or throw. Conditions change with the weather. When focused I am still able to observe the cueball to object ball impact and it reminds me of as a baseball hitter I could read the laces as the ball approached. I watched the bat impact the ball. I hit to World Class in baseball. So watching the cueball departure and trip to the secondary target. Information comes through observation. Ball rotation is critical at each contact including with the rails.
So as Willie Hoppe would say. Start over. My morning fitness involves just that. The one handed stuff might seem uh hoaky or even the Other Hand just frivolous. Tisk tisk.
First be the shot maker for an hour then an hour with the kicks Like A Mule, should build a strong foundation.
