If you cannot make a ball, your position play doesn t really matter.........

I am for sure a *lover and believer* of strong fundamentals and knowledge. But over the years with talking to great players, instructors etc. i changed here a bit my opinion.
Knowledge is 100% very important- that s nothing we could discuss about. But no matter *why* a player make the balls (means system blablabla), he developed already something for him. And if you re able to make many balls you are ready to finetune it and get more and more knowledge.

I meant putting as much importance on managing the table, vs practicing shooting difficult shots. I saw some pretty good nine ball players get coached by George Mecula years ago, where analytical thinking was the focus, rather than shot making. Ginky was one of them.
